Chapter 9

Chapter 9: Glass Cage

Once Loki was loaded onto the jet by Natasha, I saw Steve immediately look into the building for me. I gestured for him to come quickly, and he did.

Steve jogged across the road along with Tony flying in front of him. Both of them reached me, and Tony immediately went over to the man that I had just saved.

He lifted him up and carried him over to me and out the door.

"Thanks" I said to him and we did a quick fist bump before he flew off to the nearest hospital.

This left me and Steve standing in front of the building alone.

"I'm guessing you know Mr. Stark." He said

I hopped down the stairs, lifting my dress up every step and making sure not to fall. When I got to the bottom, I let down my dress and walked straight up to Steve. I stopped, and we both looked at each other for a few seconds, him giving me a cute little smile.

I hoped what I did next wasn't too awkward or too soon, I had only known Steve for like a day, but he seemed like a nice guy, so I took my chances.

I threw my arms around his neck tightly in a 'nice job' kinda hug.

He didn't reciprocate my hug for at least 5 seconds, which made me question my judgment.

'Oh god this makes me seem so awkward, shit he's not gonna hug me back. Fuck you." Was all I could think.

I was just about to let go before I felt him hug me back, with his hands both placed around my rib area/back. "Thank god" I thought as I let out a little sigh of relief.

He hastily tightened his grip on me, unintentionally pulling me closer to him.

We both let go of each other, both smiling at the other.

"Well I'm glad that we're friends..." I stated shakily. "Because I'm just gonna tell you right now that I'm a huge fan of yours. But you must hear that a lot. Sorry I'm being weird."

Steve looked at me with his eyebrows knitted together, but smiling at the same time.

"Don't worry, friends are allowed to be weird with each other." He told me with a warm smile and a little chuckle. I sighed in relief, happy that he didn't think I was too crazy.

"Great!" I played off my embarrassment of my word choice smoothly.

We started to walk back towards the quinjet, side by side.

"And nice job, by the way." I said glancing over to him with a little smirk

"You too."

Back at the S.H.I.E.L.D Hellicarrier

We were finally back at the Hellicarrier, after a pretty bumpy ride on the jet from Germany.

On the upside, I finally got to actually talk to Tony, and we were able to talk and hug and all that.

Down side, we ran into another angry Asgardian, Loki's brother, Thor. He snatched Loki right out of the jet and left, which prompted Tony, then Steve to go down to the ground and get both of them back.

The big conflict between the 3 (with Loki watching from the sidelines) ended in the generally destruction of the forest, after Steve shielded himself from a blow from Thor, knocking them down along with most of the trees in the Forest.

But, we were now secure on the Hellicarrier, sat around the conference table as Loki was taken to his glass cage.

Once Loki was in his little cage, Fury took a chance to tell him the consequences.
