Chapter 10

Chapter 10: Secret S.H.I.E.L.D

Once Steve and I were close enough to see into the lab, the first thing we saw was Tony poking Bruce with something pointy.

"OW!" Yelped Bruce as Tony poked him in the side

"Nothing?" Said Tony, watching Bruce closely

"Hey! Are you nuts?" Steve said as we entered into the lab

"FROSTY!" Tony shouted as he saw me enter the lab. His nickname for me had been 'Frosty' for as long as I could remember, and the only other thing besides it that he called me was 'Thena'. I'd really only heard him say my really name like 6 times in 23 years.

He glared at Steve, then turned back to me and winked.

"Yeah, maybe we shouldn't poke Dr. Banner with pointy things, Anthony." I said to him in a sarcastic voice and using his full name, knowing he hated when I did.

He just gave me an annoyed look and turned to Bruce again.

"You really have a lid on it, haven't you! What's your secret? Mellow jazz? Bongo drums? A big bag of weed?"

"Is everything a joke to you?" Asked Steve, already annoyed.

"Funny things are." Tony quipped

"Threatening the safety of everyone on this ship isn't funny! No offense, Doctor."

"I don't think Dr. Banner would've come aboard if he couldn't handle pointy things, Steve." I said as I looked up to Steve, and was met with a little eye roll.

"Careful there, sassy. Wouldn't wanna get a headache." I said to Steve in a sarcastic voice before I walked so I could see the screen that Bruce was looking at. Whoever said that Captain America was 'respectful' and 'the nicest guy' obviously didn't know him.

"You're tiptoeing, big man. You need to strut!"

"And you need to focus on the problem, Mr. Stark!"

"You think I'm not? Why did Fury call is in and why now? Why not before? What isn't he telling us? I can't do the equation unless I have all the variables."

"You think Fury's hiding something?"

"Well no offense to S.H.I.E.LD-" Tony said, glancing over to me quickly before turning back to Steve

"But, Captain, he's a spy. He's the spy. His secrets have secrets. It's bugging him too, isn't it?" Tony said, pointing to Bruce.

"Uh... I just wanna finish my work here... And-" Bruce said, not looking from his screen.

"Doctor?" I said, turning to look at him.

Bruce gave a sigh, and then decided to share his thoughts.

"'A warm light for all mankind to share', Loki's jab at Fury about the cube."

"I heard it." Steve said seriously

"Well I think that was meant... For you." Bruce said, pointing at Tony

"Even if Barton didn't tell him, it was still all over the news." Bruce said as Tony nodded in agreement.

"Stark Tower?" Steve said and started to smirk "You mean that big, ugly-"

Before he finished, me and Tony both looked at him with our eyebrows raised.

"Excuse me sir." I whispered as Tony and I stared him down.

Steve tried to put on a straight face. "Building in New York." He finished
