Chapter 19: Close It

As Thor, Steve and I kept on fighting, eventually we had been pushed back so far that we'd become back-to-back, and then eventually positioned ourselves so that we were next to each other.

We were obviously outnumbered, but now it was apparent that we were in over our heads. But still, we kept on fighting the best that we could.

Even though all 3 of us were either a god, a super soldier, or a regenerative mutant, we were all getting tired, and were I need of a big, epic, final move.

Since Thor could only summon lighting and Steve could really only throw his shield and punch things, it looked like it was up to me.

"I don't mean to be pushy" said Steve to me as he threw his shield with a grunt

"But would you by any chance be able to do something to wipe out a bunch, or possibly all of these guys in one shot?"

"I agree, it would be beneficial." Added Thor as he threw Mjolnir.

By this point in the fight, it was now snowing, due to me using my powers so much, and I began to think of anything that I could do. I walked out a little ways in front of the two, knowing that I would have to do something very powerful, and something that powerful would probably hurt me and possibly people around me. But I knew that it had to be done.

Right as these thoughts entered my mind, all the falling snowflakes stopped moving, standing still in the air. This made Thor and Steve look to me, and I could feel their eyes on my back.

I took a deep breath in and looked around, and all the movement in the area seemed to stop, with the Chitauri even ceasing fire.

When I exhaled, I could see the foggy air coming out of my mouth in front of me. The temperature had plummeted, and everyone was looking at me.

I turned my palms out so they were facing out from my sides, and I took another deep breath.

As I took this breath, all of the snowflakes and cold air were absorbed into my open palms, and I felt a rush of cold in my hands and up my arms. There was so much cold energy that I even stumbled backwards a little bit.

My hands stayed cold, comfortably cold not painfully, and I looked around again.

Without thinking, I threw my hand out, and a layer of ice covered the ground before me, and all the way across the street, freezing anything connected to it.

I could still feel lots of cold energy bottled up inside me, so I decided to take a shot in the dark.

I kneeled down on one knee, in Iron Man stance, and threw my fist down onto the ground, punching the pavement.

A huge force of all the energy I had rocketed out of my fist in a massive, earthquake style shockwave.

Not only did it shatter the ice that I had already made and create cracks in the ground, but ice and snowy wind shot out at about my shoulder level (while kneeling), all around my whole body and out, powerful enough to reach pretty much all of the Chitauri herd.

Along with the ground, the windows in nearby buildings and skyscrapers we frosted over, then shattered.

All the Chitauri who weren't knocked back by the shockwave were struck with ice somewhere in the torso region, both ways either killing or knocking them out.

I stayed, kneeling on the ground as the last few of the Chitauri fell, and stayed there for a few moments.

I finally decided to move, so firstly I moved my cold, balled-up hand off of the icy ground.
