Several months later, you found yourself seated in the rebuilt gymnasium of Hope's Peak Academy, listening to the speech given by the headmaster, Makoto Naegi. You sat beside Byakuya, who listened diligently to the Ultimate Hope's message. On your other side was Aoi, who was giddy with joy as she listened to him.
A crescendo of applause indicated the end of the message, prompting you to follow the mass of people outside. You followed Byakuya to the car lot, where you stepped into a black town car.
Yeah, the world was saved. Everyone was safe and happy, and the 78th class was adored by the world. Makoto rebuilt the infamous academy and was appointed headmaster, with a vision to lead the school to a brighter future.
Byakuya carried out his plans of reviving the Togami conglomerate, and you followed him throughout. You drove past the skeleton of a skyscraper, the building where the Togami headquarters would be located. No business line was running yet, but the public was already anticipating the arrival of Togami products. And, while you couldn't give much insight, he'd ask your opinion on anything involving his empire. What style the headquarters should have, if the logo design should change, he once asked if he should go from selling electronics to selling some other product. With what little advice you could give, he listened with interest to what you thought.
You arrived back at the penthouse condo you used as a home until the skyscraper was rebuilt. You followed Byakuya into the elevator, pressing the button to reach the top floor.
"Alright. I've got to host a meeting tomorrow, then head over and supervise the headquarter construction for a few hours." Byakuya relayed his plans for tomorrow. "Afterwards, we can head to that restaurant downtown in the evening."
"That sounds nice." You commented as the elevator reached its destination. You exited, crossing the small antechamber and entering the spacious penthouse. The large glass wall opposite you gave a wonderful view of the city, city lights and twinkling stars replacing the horrid smoke and fire.
Byakuya walked up the stairs, removing his blazer as he entered the bedroom. You sighed, flopping onto the couch and glancing at the clock. 8 PM.
"I'm going to bed." Byakuya appeared at the top of the stairs. "I've got a lot to do tomorrow, and I'm exhausted already. Join me whenever you'd like."
"Alright. I'll be up in a few." You nodded, gazing out the window. It's really over, isn't it? You heard Byakuya's footsteps as he reentered the bedroom. A happily ever after. For the two of us, anyways. Your eyes followed a plane slowly moving across the sky. I wonder how the others are doing. Makoto and Kyoko are working to rebuild Hope's Peak. You counted the intervals between the blinking lights of the plane. Aoi must be suffering from the loss of her friend and her family member. Poor girl. You saw several lights flick off in a distant building. Who knows what Yasuhiro is up to. And Toko...well, I suppose we'll have to figure out a way to tell her that she can't be with Byakuya. You sighed, sitting up. That'll be a pain.
The following morning, you went down to the living room; Byakuya had already woken up and gone ahead of you. He greeted you with a plate of well made breakfast: an omelet, sausage, and toasted biscuits.
"I didn't know you could cook." You sat down at the bar table, taking a fork to the food.
"If I can fly a helicopter, I can cook a simple breakfast." He sat besides you, holding a cup of coffee.
"Well, it's sweet. Thank you." You smiled like an idiot.
"Of course. It's common that a man should do whatever he can to make his special one happy. I do try my hardest for you."
