You stood around awkwardly on the field, waiting for Byakuya to show up. You had come much earlier than planned. You clutched your pants nervously as you looked around. He just wants to see what I can do, right?  If that's the case, why were you so worried?

You watch as Byakuya approaches you. He was dressed a little more casual, in a black jacket and black jeans. It looked nice on him. What am I thinking?

"Good afternoon." Those words hit you like a bullet. It was the most polite he had ever been, and the kind words matched with his voice was like "ear-candy". You weren't going to screw up and ruin his mood.

  "Hey." You nodded to him.

You weren't sure of what to say, but he broke the silence rather fast.

"Let's sit somewhere. I have a few questions."

This just turned from a demonstration to an interview?

You both made your way to the bleachers and sat on the first row. You sat criss-crossed facing Byakuya, but he sat and faced the field.

"Where'd you learn to fight?" He asked.

  "Oof. It's a long story."

  "Just answer me."

"Right. Well, to tell the truth, I learned during my time in a yakuza clan."

  "You were a yakuza?"

  "...Yes."

He nodded. "That'll be a story for another time. What did you learn? Martial arts? Military combat?"

"Nothing specific. Just random things for fending off someone or winning 1 on 1 fights."

  "How long were you taught?"

"I was in the clan for about a year, but I continued practicing after that."

He was quiet. The wind began blowing softly as the two of you sat in silence.

"Can I ask you something?" You asked.

  "What is it?"

"Why are you interested in this? In my fighting ability?"

He turned to you. "I'm the Ultimate Affluent Progeny."

As if he hadn't bragged about it enough.

  "Okay...that didn't answer my question."

"My life is valuable, precious. I can't let it be taken by some idiot who wants me dead."

"So...you want a bodyguard, in other words. You're testing to see if I'm reasonable enough to defend you?"

"My expectations are low, but I check all my options." He pushed up his glasses as he faced the field.

"Sheesh." You fall back, completely laying on the bleacher. "I wouldn't pick me. I was a yakuza once."

"If you prove to be better than the rest, I don't care about your history. Now get out on the field."

"Yes, your highness." You roll off the bench and hop over the fence separating the bleachers and the track.

A half-hour later, you went to your room. You weren't sure what you were going to do until curfew. This was the most exciting room on campus, and it didn't even advertise anything entertaining.

You pulled out your phone, searching for Chiaki's contact. She was the only upperclassmen besides Teruteru that you had met, and the two of you decided to exchange contact information. You hoped she had something for you to do.
