[ Taeyong | Sicheng | Ten | Johnny | Lucas | Jungwoo | Mark ]
[ in the cafeteria ]
"Boy, you're starting to scare me." Ten says, pushing back his usual three chins. He gives Johnny a look and points to the thing on Lucas's face. "You're smiling."
Rolling his eyes, Johnny presses his hand on his cheek. "Let the guy live. Why do you have to be such a party pooper?" He snorts, curling his lips. "Oh right, I forgot you're the king of toilets."
"Shut up, it was only one time!" Ten hisses as he flips off Johnny for the second time. "It's not my fault I spend a majority of my time there."
Lucas continues to observe his two favorite people and as usual, the two were acting like a bickering married couple. Some things just never change. "Hey Johnny, when are you going to ask Ten out for prom again?"
Deepening his gaze and wiggling his eyebrows up and down in the strangest motion, Johnny replies to Lucas's question. "I try every day, but progress is slow."
"As if! You didn't ask me today." Ten throws a napkin to Johnny's face while pouting. "I was really looking forward to it."
Lucas makes a face and then crinkles his nose. These two idiot friends of his are getting to his nerves. And to think he was supposed to be the knucklehead in the group. "Ten, did you just hear yourself?"
"Wow, are you confessing to me?" Johnny lifts up his eyebrow as his lip sort of twitches upwards. "That's a first, but I'm not complaining."
Ten starts to sweat as he notices his two friends ganging up on him. Oh no, maybe he should have never said that last thing, but it's too late to take it back right? "I'm not, but if you were to ask me to prom, I might say yes."
Johnny thinks for a second and then shakes his head. Nah, he wanted this moment to be special and certainly, he's going to tease Ten more just cause it's funnier to see him getting all worked up. "What if I gave up on asking you to prom?"
And the biggest idiot of the award goes to... drumroll please, the guy with the penis haircut! Lucas sighs and takes some time to pray to the universe to forgive this screw-up. It's official, mama Suh probably dropped Johnny on the head when he was a baby. "Are you serious? The prom is like next week."
Squinting his eyes, Ten screams with his lips closed. Why does Johnny always do the exact opposite of what he hopes for? Honestly, it's like his sole purpose is to piss him off. Oh? And it's working too. "Next time I see you, remind me to not talk to you.
"That's going to be hard. I know you can't resist my charms." Johnny points to the swirl on his head and confidently explains he even got a perm the other day. "You dig it, right?"
Dig as in he wants to chop off that thing on his head and shave off his hair? Then, yes. He totally digs it. "On second thought, it's a good thing you gave up on me. What was I thinking?"
Lucas elbows Johnny and then gives him the usual 'don't fuck this up' look because it's probably his last chance to ever ask Ten out for prom. "Bro, you better not let your man wait."
Johnny sighs and focuses his attention on Lucas. Speaking of his man, how about Lucas's 'lady'? "I don't know, shouldn't you ask Jungwoo to prom?"
"I'm working on it. Unlike you, I'm making progress." At least that's what he thinks. Lately, Jungwoo hasn't been gagging at his face so that's totally a start. "I think he's into me now."
Ten slumps his head to the table and sighs. Not like he wants to enter the conversation, but as a friend, he feels like he needs to burst some bubbles here and there. It has to do with keeping the universe in balance and stuff. Don't ask him, he's just looking out for him. "You do know Taeyong has been making progress to right? I heard he even touched Jungwoo's face."
Lucas widens his eyes as he stands up straight in his chair. His two friends look at him with a nod. Usually, Ten is notorious for hearing gossip, but if Johnny agrees then it must be true. "What? How did this happen?"
Johnny leans back in his seat and slightly scratches his ear. "Don't ask me, but I had a friend who saw the whole thing and he said they're practically dating."
Ten slaps Johnny on the shoulder and clicks his tongue. "Hey, the dating part was unnecessary. More like they know each other."
"Yeah, to the point where Taeyong could touch his face? I don't think Lucas even touched any part of Jungwoo's—
Oh, my god, Ten widens his eyes. He had to blink not once but twice to register what he has seen. No way, Lucas wasn't lying about having progress. "That face! I know it so well. No wonder you were smiling."
"Spill or else I won't ask Ten out to prom," Johnny says, making Ten curse under his breath.
"What the hell? Why do you have to drag me into this and FYI, just don't ask me? Gosh!" Ten blows his bangs, as he grits his teeth. Again, why does Johnny even try? The world along with him will never find the answer.
Smirking, Lucas proudly pounds on his chest. He was about to show these two little boys who's the actual boss in town. "Listen, he gave me a coupon book and it started with the words 'Jungwoo will'.
Ten bites the napkin in his hands as if his life depended on it. Now, this was the juicy stuff he's talking about! Nothing like this ever happens in the boy's restroom. He really has to find another throne because sometimes it just smells pretty shitty there anyways. "And? Don't leave me hanging. Johnny doesn't care anyway."
"Excuse me? I do care." Johnny mouths and at the same time he sends a glare towards Ten who was acting like he knew everything. "Just because we're close doesn't mean you know everything about me."
For the fifth time, Ten is just there to find out details and Johnny, as usual, is being a pain in the ass and taking up space. "What's this? I could have sworn I heard someone talk."
"You know I think I'll tell you guys some other day," Lucas says, getting up from his seat as he swings his bookbag over his shoulder. "Besides, you two clearly have some unfinished business to take care of."
Cringing, Ten stares at Johnny and then crosses his arms. As if! There's nothing going on between him and this stupid jerk. "Do not associate me with this—"
"Hey Ten, do you want to go to prom with me?" Johnny gets up and pulls off the tab on the soda can. If Lucas had guessed, Johnny was trying to be a romantist with his 'let's impress Ten by giving him something that sort of resembles a ring' shenanigan.
Biting his lip, Ten eyes Johnny putting on the pathetic excuse as a ring on his index finger. Oh, what the heck! This was good enough for him. "I thought you'd never ask."
