- JIN's POV-

I stood in my robe in line with the rest of the brethren. My robes draped across my shoulders, my white wings folded gently behind me as I looked to the side to see my brothers and sisters gossiping while the councillors discussed something from high above us.

In the middle of the night, all of us angels were called to assemble in the Hall of Light. I followed my siblings quietly as I didn't have enough courage to speak up. I had only just became a fully fledged protector, and yet I was still the most clumbsiest thing to ever live in the heavens.

Above us the white marble pillars moved and shifted away from us as the four head councillors descended down toward their awaiting children. All of us were born from the councillors, the only angels that can conjure their own light and create life.

"You need to not be so tense Seokjin." A brother named Yoongi whispered to me which caused me to roll my shoulders back as I cracked my neck.

"I can't help it, I feel so out of place here.." I whispered back to him, earning a glowing smile from my younger brother.

"Just breathe, it'll be fine." Yoongi told me and turned to face the councillors as their floating marble stage set down. The gold trace of leaves bounded themselves to the marbel to show the figure of authority.

You see even though I am technically older then Yoongi that doesn't nessecarily make me a faster learner. And trust me, I tried to learn as quick as I could. The role of an angel is to provide mortals that hold 'The Light' with protection. These people are the very essence of happiness itself, and angels are sent down from the heavens to protect them at any means nessecary.

"I'm sure you are all wondering why we have assembled you, so I will not waste time any longer," The main leader, Namjoon told us as he placed his hands together and summoned a blinding amount of light to the ceiling. As it faded, images began to play through of a young mortal girl- in her mid twenties, smiling as she walked around her city.

All of us gasped as we saw the sight we were shown. And every single one of us saw what she had.

"The Aura! She has the Aura! It's a miracle!" One of the angels from afar cried out as we all observed this mortals glowing aura. Around her, light was shrouded like a protective cape. The Aura was an ancient prophecy, but a very important one, which was conjured by the last councillors because of a statical vision they once saw in their dreams.

"To the one shrouded in light
One will be sent to save the fight
But to protect is to make sacrifice
And the shrouded one's love will suffice"

"Yes," Namjoon began as he arched his head to the ceiling with a soft smile, "she has appeared. Which is why we must take fast action." He stated, the light that held the visions of the mortal disappeared and returned to Namjoon.

"Demons are plotting to take away the mortals light, we must protect her before it is too late. She has already avoided death far too many times." A second councillor stepped forward and handed Namjoon a small ball of light with a worried expression as she whispered something into his ear.

"What do you think she is saying?" Yoongi whispered to me which suddenly snapped me out of my daydream over the mortal girl. She was so...captivating. Her smile, her soft gaze, the colour of her hair. A single gaze and any mortal would become happy.

"I can't say I know.." I replied to the male and straightened my back as Namjoon cleared his throat while his eyes frantically scanned over the many angels that were dispersed in front of him. Anyone of them he could've chose, many angels that were experienced enough to handle the great prophecy on their own.

"Kim Seokjin," Namjoon called out, his voice echoing from the walls causing me to wince, "step forward!"

The moment my name left Namjoon's lips my brothers and sisters started whispering harsh words about how helpless I was. A lost cause most stated.

When I stepped out of the lines, I knelt in front of the stage of marble. My head began to throb as I could feel the power radiating from the four councillors.

"Kim Seokjin," the third councillor repeated as he looked down at me pitifully, "the last to graduate from his class, one of the slowest learners we have ever seen in the history of heavens. And we are sending him, to protect the shrouded one!?"

Namjoon glared toward he male and shook his head disapprovingly, "you only look with what your eyes see. But I see what the light sees in him. Kim Seokjin will protect the mortal- Kang (Y/N)- and he will learn he has his purpose."

I dared to look up to Namjoon with glistening eyes of gratitude, a smile even dared dance to the corner of my lips.

"You will protect this mortal Seokjin-" Namjoon began before he paused and took a gentle breath as all four of the guardians left hands raised toward me, "and you will only return here when the shrouded one is protected."

Before I could utter one syllable, the marble stone floor opened up from beneath me and I was now suddenly falling through the skies with a suitcase tightly bound to my waist.

Clouds...I was falling through clouds. It was dark and the city glowed faintly underneath the clouds as they began to clear while I was plummeting.

My wings expanded against the strong force of the wind. I felt a twang spring through the branch of my left wing causing me to retract it almost immediately. Now I was down one wing,

And I was still falling to the fast-approaching earth face first.
