"It's been three hours." I said as I tapped my foot, staring at the door Seokjin was behind.
"Hours? Oh yeah that's uhhh...." Yoongi tapped his chin while literally LEVATATING in the corner of the room, "that's your time structure isn't it? Seconds, minutes, hours, days weeks-."
"Ok yes yes I get it, Yoongi. Good job." I said to him while rubbing my temples. With all due respect, speaking with angels about earth stuff is painfully frustrating. I let out a small sigh and turned to face Yoongi who was still leavatating but looked very much at peace
"May I ask what you're doing?" I questioned, Yoongi opened his eyes and looked over my way.
His wings gently folded behind him perfectly, his features were symmetrical and his cheek bones sat high. His pointed ears glowed red at the ends from the sun behind him. Angels really couldn't be faulted with their features.
"Well, I am meditating by the sun. This is another form of how Angels can re-enigise themselves. The first way is by absorbing the aura strings that dispurse during happiness. But this way I find more ethical." He looked to the sun with a soft smile.
I nodded like I totally understood what he just told me but then I questioned him again, "is there something unethical about the aura strings?"
He shook his head before contemplating his own statement. "I guess it is objective. I do not see it as something ethical however Seokjin uses it as his main method of replenishment."
He continued, "no it isn't unethical. But I just feel if someone is so happy that their aura dispurses strands then we should not be taking those away. The beauty of happiness is ethereal."
"I see, thanks for the run down." I walked over to my coffee table and picked up a book before taking it over to Yoongi, "I would suggest reading up on this. Seokjin found it helpful and you might learn something that you didn't know before."
It was in fact the mortal world for dummies book that Seokjin had been reading on our first morning together. Yoongi found it amusing at first as if I was joking but I was not. He then opened to the first page.
I took in a deep breath of courage and gently knocked on the door Seokjin was behind.
"Jin?" I asked gingerly, "please let me in."
There was only silence for a few seconds. It felt as if the whole apartment had fallen dead silent in that moment. My heart pounded in my chest as I felt the door knob jiggle slightly. The door was now unlocked.
As I stepped in, I closed the door behind me and faced the defeated looking angel. I had no clue how much of an impact Yoongi being sent to protect me as well had on Seokjin. But I wasn't being insensitive either- I just genuinely don't understand. His world is insanely different to mine and I don't think I will be able to grasp its complexity.
"(Y/N)...." He said softly while rubbing his forearm bashfully. There was something he wanted to say but it looked as if it would pain him to even admit such a thing. I took his hand and offered him a sweet smile.
"Jin," I began, using his shortened name more then I ever have before, "I am sorry you are feeling disheartened at the moment by Yoongi's presence."
"That's not it (Y/N). When I saw my brother appear I was ecstatic! I didn't realise how much I missed him until that moment. It's just that, well-" he struggled to find the right words but I stood patiently and listened to him.
"I just feel like Yoongi should replace me. I put you in so much danger by just leaving you in that mall to go fight the demon. Yes, there were other angels around but that doesn't make up for what I done. They reported my actions straight back to the council as they should have."
"My priority should have been to get you out of there. To a safer place. There is a reason Yoongi had to come here to watch from the sideline's and that's because I didn't do my job right." It seemed as if he had become so emotionally invested in the situation.
I rubbed the back of his hand with my thumb encouragingly before letting out a content sigh.
"For what it's worth. I've never felt unsafe with you. Although the council may be important, I disagree with their rash decisions." I reached up and patted the top of his head with a soft giggle.
"Seokjin you are my Angel, my protector and my friend. I think the council was acting to brash," he straightened up and looked down to me with surprise.
"You are the chosen one for a reason, and I want you to never doubt your ability to protect me."
And then he smiled with glee. My words were headed and I was happy to see that the bubbly Angel that fell to earth was back to himself.
"Your words are very kind, (Y/N)." Seokjin said as he gently placed my hand down by my side. "I should enjoy the time that Yoongi will be with us as well- while not avoiding my main job of course!"
I laughed and opened the door, "let's go then. He is reading up on the mortal world. Maybe you can quiz each other."
As we walked out Yoongi was scratching the top of his head while reading a page in the book.
"So you have to pay to go to university, so that you can get a job. But there is no guarantee you will get that job?" He slammed the book shut and looked over to me with confusion in his eyes.
"Mortal ways are very dumb." He said.
(( it's only been three years since an update lol. Hopefully you will enjoy!! Thanks for being so patient. ))
