"He is the dark leader," Jin explained while I attempted to mend his injured wing with a make-shift splinter that I was made with two wooden spoons and bandage, "we don't know his name but we do know that he is the one who controls all of the demons that enter the mortal realm."
I nodded slowly as I continued to listen to the Angels story of why he had to come here and protect me.
"Do you realise the really odd things that happen to you when you're in public? Like...say that car accident you were almost in-"
"That was a demon's work?" I asked as I tied the bandage and stepped down off of the table top and looked to Jin with my arms crossed and my eyebrows knitted with confusion, "and all the other times?"
Jin examined the splinter I had made for his wing while talking, "We believe that it is the same demon. One of the dark leaders most treasured demons. But there is a high chance that he is still sending other demons for safe measure. You've managed to dodge death twenty-eight times. And that is only this year!"
I shook my head in shock as I attempted to process everything that was unloaded on me at once. It was taking me a long time to realise that angels and demons do exist and they do influence people.
"Wait, if they influence people then wouldn't they see the demon or angel that follows them?" I asked.
Jin shook his head before rubbing his face in a tiresome display.
"According on how much light or darkness is in your heart does it determine what you see. You have an overwhelming amount of light within you which allows you to see me. That goes for the dark ones as well."
As I looked to the clock on my wall my eyes widened as I saw how late it was getting. I had to work the morning shift as well, so I needed a somewhat good sleep if I was going to function properly for work.
"I'd like to talk more but I really do need to get some sleep and I'm not sure if it is safe for me to assume that angels sleep but if you do there is enough room on the floor next to me. I can lay a spare mattress-"
"Oh no (Y/N), angels don't sleep as you mortals do. We simply slip into a short cut of unconciousness and recharge for about half an hour or so. Depending on what we have been doing."
I slowly nodded as I walked toward my bedroom with Jin following me into the small room. I removed my jacket and decided that I was too tired to even bother changing clothes and that I would shower in the morning.
"If you need food then just go to the kitchen, I don't even know what angels eat." I mumbled as I sat on the edge of my bed and rubbed my eyes tiredly.
Jin chuckled before sitting down at the bottom of my bed while looking back at me with a grin, "We don't eat mortal food. I'll show you how I eat one day. We can save the questions for tomorrow."
As he spoke I slowly nodded my head and drifted off into a dreamless sleep as I rested after my day. Many things that had taken place today could have filled my dream but for some reason, it was empty. My mind was calm and blank as I slept through to the next morning. I woke to the abrupt sound of my alarm.
As I quickly hit the stop button and sat up in bed I had forgotten about the angel that was present in the room with me until he made himself heard.
"I did some research on elevators while you were sleeping." He said, causing me to snap my gaze onto him as he sat on the floor in the corner of my room with a very thick book in his hands. The book was lined with gold and held very bright pages within it.
I peered at the cover and saw the title;
'Mortal world for dummies'
"You could've asked me those questions you know." I told him as I slowly made my way to my bathroom with Jin following me out into the lounge room.
"I know, but you needed rest. I think I'll try my hand at cooking you breakfast while you prepare yourself for the day. It can't be too hard."
I watched as Jin walked into the kitchen and began to grab everything that his heart desired to cook me breakfast. I sighed and puffed my cheeks as I closed the bathroom door and rested my head against it as I chuckled in disbelief.
"There is an angel in my kitchen." I said to myself as I tried to process the very thought of what was happening in my reality. I decided that I should stop pondering on my thoughts, and get ready for work at the cafe.
