"Mortals are so interesting." Jin cooed as he walked beside me down the staircase of my apartment block. I chuckled as I watched him look around at the different people that were making their way around the street without a care in the world and without any knowledge that there was an angel watching them.

"You'll see a fair few of them tod-"

"Who are you talking to (Y/N)?" A voice from behind asked. As I turned in my heel I saw that Jimin was approaching me with his bag strapped to his shoulders as he too was on his way to work.

"He can't see me remember," Jin cooed into my ear, "but I would like to point out that pink-haired fairy is suspicious."

I swatted Jin out of my ear before smiling towards Jimin as he had a very confused expression because of my peculiar behaviour.

"I'm just talking to myself y'know," I lied as I began walking down the street with Jimin on my right and the invisible Jin to my left, "did you sleep well?"
I asked Jimin in an attempt to change the conversation.

Jimin shrugged it off and took my bait, "I would've slept easier if I knew what the hell you were doing rummaging around in that dumpster last night with your flashlight."

My eyes slightly widened and Jin snickered as he shook his head and spoke, "tell him that you were looking to see if it was a cat. You like to look for stray cats don't you?"

"I thought there might've been a kitten in there that needed my help. So I had to look deep in there to make sure everything was alright."

Jimin seemed to buy my small lie and continued on his trek to work without questioning anything that I had just told him. It was somewhat comforting that Jimin wasn't asking me as many questions as he should.

"One day a cat is going to scratch you and you're going to get an infection. Be more careful about what you are looking for at night in a dumpster. Anyways besides that, how long are you working for today?" He asked with a small smile on his lips as he pulled his jacket up around his cheeks.

"I start in half an hour and then finish at one in the afternoon. It's only a short shift today. And you?" I asked before peaking out the corner of my eye to see the white-winged angel in a toga looking around with a beaming smile before he noticed a bird that was sitting on a powerline up above us.

"Come to me, my winged brother." Jin said as he stretched his hand up into the air as if he expected the bird to magically fly to his palm on command. I tried not to laugh, and quickly coughed to cover it up before Jimin started speaking.

"You've got a good shift today. I have to work till nine tonight." The young male pouted as he slouched while walking along the footpath. I shook my head before patting him on the shoulder.

"Jimin-ah, you work hard. The pay-off will be a very good thing, you'll feel accomplished!" I tried to encourage the not-so-ecstatic Jimin as he continued to mope along the path.

"You're too enthusiastic about work." Jimin commented, earning Jin's attention from beside me after he cursed the bird for not following his command.

"Of course she is Pink Fairy, you should share some of her energy! She is absolutely brilliant! If only you could see the fantastic healing magic she bestowed upon my wing!" Jin showered me with compliments even though I hadn't yet done anything to earn them let alone receive them. I watched as he was quick to become fascinated in the splinter I had made for him.

"I enjoy what I do. If you don't enjoy your work then perhaps you should look for a new job," I told him. Jimin straightened himself out before nodding his head slightly as we came to the corner where we parted ways.

"You're usually right. Anyways, enjoy your shift Noona." Jimin waved me off as he crossed the street and continued on route to the restaurant. I returned his wave before walking up with Jin toward the cafe which sat just up a few more stores.

"Pink Fairy is sad, is he often like that?" Jin asked me, looking around at the street signs in fascination as if the question he had just asked held no deeper meaning to me.

I stopped out the front of the cafe and turned back to face the angel with a concerned expression.

"You think he is sad?" I asked him, watching as Jin nodded and looked at his reflection in the cafe window. He began to run his fingers through his hair to fix the way it sat on his head.

"I don't think so. I know so. I can see his au-" Jin's mouth snapped shut as his mind told him to put a stop to his sentence. It's as if he came to a huge realisation and left me out of the mix, "let's not read into it. For now you should get ready for work. So let's go in!"

"Wait what are you going to be doing while I work?" I asked him, stopping him before he entered the cafe before me. Jin patted the top of my head with a soft grin as he looked down to me with soft eyes.

"I'll be protecting you, of course!"

"I'll be protecting you, of course!"
