After contacting the school, Johan called his dad. He told him the gist of the situation, while, of course, prevaricating a few times. Then, his dad booked a Kor-Air flight for 5/13, 6:00 AM, which meant they would be there for another day or so. An airport clerk told them where they could find a vacant, decent, and nearby hotel. They thanked her and went off in a bus to their destination.
Upon arriving, they requested a room for two. The hotel clerk nodded, gave them a set of room keys, and sent them off, saying, "See you around, lovebirds!"
They both rolled their eyes. Typical old people, Erica thought.
The hotel room was a spacious one. It was strange that this hotel even had rooms. Erica heard her phone ring. She saw her mom calling. She answered, and was met with an inquisitive voice.
"Erica dear, why is there four new figures on your price tag? I know we are a rich family, but you really should tell me first honey."
"Mom! Come on. We booked a hotel-" she was cut off by her father's voice.
"Geez, Jennifer, give the kid a break. Her plane malfunctioned and so I booked another plane for her that is due in a couple of days. Not quite as luxurious. But, unfortunately, the flight isn't due until a day and a half. So she booked a hotel. I'm sure she did not notice the price. After all, it's been years since we last visited Hawaii."
"Alright, alright. I'm sorry for bugging you Erica! Please be safe, and when you get to Seoul, call me, okay?"
"Alright mom, love you!"
Johan snickered.
"Love you too honey."
Johan chuckled.
After hanging up, Erica tackled Johan onto the bed and sat on his diaphragm. He groaned.
"Not so funny now, is it Johan? And also, you should lose some weight. It will make carrying you when you faint much easier," Erica said, both annoyed and prideful.
Then Erica snickered.
Johan smiled evilly. He then opened the Fabrication. He shook Erica off of himself and then laughed. Erica screamed.
He faced the monsters in front of him. He activated Fly, and then used a skill he developed in the airport-Thunder Wave. Thunder Wave was a skill that he developed using his apparent affinity for Electricity. Using this, he developed a pretty low level skill quickly. But, since the monsters were also low level, it would not matter.
He flew into the air. Using Thunder Wave, he released a wave of static. By disrupting the nervous system and causing some damage, he hoped he could defeat the monsters like an Area of Effect character would-many at a time, slowly.
Meanwhile, on the ground, Erica was busy smashing enemies with her skill, Crazed Fist, which lights her fist on fire and makes her stronger.
After an hour had passed, they were tired. Johan was low on Mana and EP, but not on a critical level. Erica had completely depleted her Fighter EP, but that didn't matter. Because of Gamer Body, any monster Johan destroyed dropped loot and XP. Since Erica still had The Ability which still had levels and skills regardless, she still received XP.
Johan made a list of everything that changed for them:
Johan: Fly is now level 3. I am level 8. I have 28 SP. Thunder Wave is level 5 and I can evolve it at the cost of 4 SP. My MP max is now 215. EP max is now 188. HP max is now 99. MP regenerates at 16:1 hour, EP at 66:1 hour, and HP at 13:1 hour. With the 28 SP I have to spend, I will make Intelligence 9, Agility 2, Strength 8, and Stamina 8, leaving 4 SP for evolution, and 2 for emergencies.
Erica: Crazed Fist is now level 6. It can evolve via a special ritual which will cost her a lot of Fighter EP and the new skill will take time to gain control of.
Returning to the hotel room, the duo were hungry. They called room service and ordered dinner. Afterwards, they made a list of priorities for the future.
"Number one:go to Korean school. Yay or nay?" Johan asked. Erica gave him a thumbs-up.
"Number two:evolve, and upgrade our abilities. Yes or no?" Hearing the question, Erica nodded.
"Number three:make some friends at school, and see if anybody has The Ability. Agree?" Johan asked.
"Yup. That'll be easy for me. I'm sexy, curvy, smart, and fit. No problems here," Erica bragged, while wearing a prideful expression on her face.
Johan slapped her in annoyance. "Shut up. No matter how many guys get hard for you, there is still a low chance that we encounter an Ability user first try. And besides, they'll probably only like you because your rich. All the things you just mentioned are only partially credible."
Erica sniffled and started tearing up. They were crocodile tears, and Johan could tell. But, since Johan had increased his Strength stat, the slap was a little bit more painful than Johan's usual slap, but he was still weak compared to her.
"Enough with the fake crying. The room service guy is here. Let's eat." Johan spoke, practically enraged by Erica's ridiculousness.
They ate peacefully. They spoke here and there about random things, from The Ability to their new school to the newest hip hop track that came out from their favorite producers. Soon, they had fallen asleep.
Johan was up first. Usually, it was the other way around, but since Johan was so eager to evolve Thunder Wave, he could barely not stay awake.
It was 6 in the morning; exactly 24 hours from their flight. Upon expending 4 skill points on skill evolution, dramatic music began to play in his head, and a similar surge of energy that he felt in the plane crash went through his entire body. The system told him the skill had evolved, and as if spyware had taken over his abilities, the system opened up his skillset by itself. The skillset changed from list to icon mode, and the Thunder Wave icon now had a line under it leading to another icon. The surge and self opening stopped, and then he collapsed.
He awoke again a few minutes later. He opened up his skillset, and then clicked on the new icon. It opened up a skill page, showing the name, Battery, the cost, and what it did. Battery allowed him to store a medium amount of electricity and when he wanted to he could release it as static. He could also use it to charge devices and to charge himself. This skill is awesome! It's so useful, Johan thought.
He woke Erica up. He told her about his new skill, and of course, she was jealous.
Erica evolved Crazed Fist as well. However, instead of a skill appearing under it, a skill appeared next to it-Crazed Kick. Crazed Kick was the same as Crazed Fist, but it was much stronger but slower as it utilized the feet.
With these new abilities, they were confident that they could survive another day and maybe even PvP. But, as in all fantasy good and evil stories and shounen anime, this was only the beginning for these two.A/N:Yer boi DerpR3der is back with the longest chapter yet!
