In the mess hall, Johan asked how Frank got such a high level so quickly. Frank told him that he broke the level cap of 50. After that, leveling up was a piece of cake, as the XP levels to level up were slightly higher than their 1-50 counterparts (for example, level 51-52 is about as hard as level 1-2.)
Johan asked how you were supposed to break the level cap. Frank's response was an unexpected one, to say the least.
"Do you remember how you got The Ability in he first place?" Frank asked.
"Yeah, activation," Johan responded.
"To break the level cap, it's a similar process. Go through an interesting or traumatic experience, and you'll break 50."
"Okay then," Johan said, half-heartedly. He was disappointed that he would never get past 50.
Frank told him his powers next. "I specialize in poison and water based attacks. I can also disable The Ability using Acid, and my strongest water attacks can cause massive devastation. My strongest attack is Poisonous Trident of Poseidon, which I've only ever used once. It destroyed Long Island. Also, my Six skill is called Archangel. It allows me to heal myself while boosting offensive power."
Johan told him his own powers after processing what Frank said. He lied a little bit on purpose. "The skill you saw that took out half of the city in one hit was Shadow Implosion. It's my Six skill. I specialize in electrical attacks. Most of my attacks don't cause widespread damage; they mainly are used to stall or get away quickly. That's all."
Frank raised an eyebrow. "You're weak! I expected way more from you. Not even close to enough to stop me."
Then, after that, Frank used Archangel. He punched the ground, resulting in a mini earthquake. There was a trapdoor. Frank pushed Johan down the trapdoor. Of course, Frank didn't know there was a trapdoor; it was just a mere coincidence.
Johan was falling. 10 feet. 100 feet. 1000 feet. At around 2400 feet, he felt his feet hit the floor. He lost a small chunk of HP. He looked around the small pit that he had landed in. There was a glimmer of light from above, presumably from the trapdoor. Johan assumed Frank hadn't closed it, so Johan marked directly under the trapdoor with an X so he could fly back up. The trapdoor then closed.
Using Battery, he fully surrounded himself with visible electricity. He could see everything around him. Johan found a vat with a liquid inside of it. He used Clairvoyance on the vat. It told him that it was The Ability chemical. Upon analyzing the chemical structure, he realized that the chemical was impossible. Upon using Clairvoyance further, he saw that there were some substances that weren't made of the standard quark-based subatomic particles; they were made of only bosons and electrons. Though this was not possible, Johan didn't question it. It was Globalous after all. Johan also realized that there was a ridiculous amount of radioactive elements in the chemical. So this is the communication device. They use radiation to communicate with the chemical, he thought.
Upon figuring this out, he easily thought of a negation chemical. All he needed was an element that could cause destructive interference to the radiation communication, which would nullify the mind control. Then, he could just make a protein based structure that would override the chemical, as he knew that the chemical resided in DNA. Man, Clairvoyance is the best!, he thought happily.
Using all his willpower, he wished for a skill that would allow him to convert Mana Points into other things. He gained two new skills; Mana Cloning and Mana Conversion. One allowed him to clone things with MP, and the other allowed him to create things with MP.
After creating and jotting down the formula he created with MP, he poured one drop. Then, he analyzed The Ability chemical with Clairvoyance.
It said that The Ability chemical was now a Radioactive Acidic Unstable Genome Editing Mixture. Fortunately, the vat contained radiation.
Johan then used the proposed antidote on himself. He was no longer able to use The Ability. But, he made sure that the chemical had a self-destruct function, in case of an emergency. It was activated with his mind. Then, he was able to use The Ability again. Johan smiled to himself. Johan then checked the time. It was 6PM! Johan started panicking. He put the antidote in his Inventory and flew up.
But the trapdoor was locked. It locked from the inside! Johan was now anxious. He used Breaker Box on it, but the lock wasn't electric or magnetic-it was magical. Johan then used Re-Wire on the closest person. He told him that the trapdoor locked on the outside too. Johan then used Butterfly Effect on the trapdoor. It had little effect. Johan then went to his last resort. He forcibly evolved Shadow Implosion with E-Dice. It had a huge impact on his body, and Johan was growing very dizzy. It became Shadow Explosion. He opened up the skillset to see what the difference was from Shadow Implosion.
Shadow Implosion forces a lot of darkness to collect into one spot. If the darkness hits anything, the thing will be destroyed. When the darkness all gathers near enough to each other, they release a shockwave, and then disappear. The skill is more powerful when it is darker.
Shadow Explosion causes an enormous amount of darkness and energy to concentrate into a very small spot. This all happens very quickly. It happens so quickly that it breaks the sound barrier, which causes a sonic boom to release. Then, the dark mass energizes. After that, an enormous dark omnidirectional wave similar to an explosion occurs. Right before the explosion, there is a shockwave. Upon explosion, everything in the vicinity becomes burnt and demolished. The cool down is 96 hours, and it spends 2700 MP.
Put simply, Shadow Implosion steamrolls everything and releases a shockwave upon concentration, while Shadow Explosion starts similar to Shadow Implosion (but without destroying anything to save energy) but after synthesizing energy releases all of it.
Johan, who had little hope left, used Shadow Explosion. It was so strong it even hurt himself. He was at quarter HP. He could barely maintain Fly due to the pain of using so much MP at once. Of course, he realized now that he could've used Warp Gate.
At the time, Erica was chatting with some of the Squad A and B members; mostly with Lily and Sarah. But, suddenly, she heard a very loud sound. One that sounded like a sonic boom. Then, for about one minute, nothing happened. But they were all in panic, running around, calling the guild leaders, some even frozen in fear (I apologize beforehand for using this cliche.) Then, after the one minute grace period, Erica felt like she was on fire. An fire absorb wasn't doing anything; even though there was extreme heat, Erica could tell that this was pure energy. Eric ran around, suddenly realizing that Johan was the cause of this. She looked around, running. She saw, in the mess hall, or what there was left of it, that there was an enormous black orb with a purple hue that was glowing white. It was about 12 feet in diameter and height. Then, it expanded outward.
There was a shockwave. Erica flew into the ceiling and hit her head. She began bleeding. She told everyone to leave and to run as far as they could. But it was no use. The energy high shadow ball exploded.
The initial explosion wiped out half of South Korea. The shockwaves reached Thailand. Despite the enormous destruction caused by the skill, Erica was still standing, with Lily and Aaron collapsed at her side. One guild leader was healing the members, another was searching for missing bodies, and the last few reverted time to right before the explosion. The spell wasn't perfect, as there was still some visible damage and fire, but it did restore much of the region leaving damage to only around Seoul.
Erica pulled Johan out of the shaft. He was depleted in HP and EP, with only 1/4 of MP left. Because of the immense power of the explosion, which initially took out 3/4 of his HP and then started burning him, he was almost dead. Thanks to the few points spent in Probability, he had 7 HP left; but, it wasn't recovering nearly as fast as it should've been, mainly because of organ damage and broken bones. Yes, even if Gamer's Body usually protects him from any injury, when his HP is this low, it cannot. So, as a result, any injury that he should've received would be received.
The healing guild leader healed him, but there was only so much that she could do. Because of the extreme amount of bodily injury that Johan sustained, his HP would not go past a tenth.
Johan gained consciousness. He awoke to Aaron by his side and Erica frowning down at him. He tried to get up, but immediately felt the physical repercussions of Shadow Explosion. He was taken to an actual hospital. He felt his HP slowly recovering after they gave him a blood transfusion. His HP was recovering at about half the normal rate, which meant his injuries could also recover.
A day went by. His HP was now recovering at two-thirds the normal rate (123 HP/hour.) He was a little over half HP now, and all his bones and organs were mostly healed, thanks to Gamer's Body, which made them heal much faster than they should. His EP was at full already. Soon, he would be dismissed.
After another day, Johan left the hospital. He was still sore, but he had no serious injuries. At least, that's what he thought. When he went outside, his right arm started feeling weird. He used Clairvoyance on it, and it turned out that his right arm was going to suffer permanent damage. But then he remembered the healing skill of The Six; Time Editor.
He never really had used Time Editor before. He clicked on it in his skillset. Time Editor allowed for the user to make a body part go back to a healed state from sometime in the past. It had no cool down, similar to Warp Gate, but it used an unbelievable amount of MP-400 per use. Not nearly as much as the Shadow skills, but still a lot.
He used it on his arm. His arm was healed back to normal. He recognized this arm from the length of the hair and muscle mass; it was his right arm from a week ago. Johan felt relieved. Until he went back to the guild.
