Johan was fully confident in his abilities. He didn't need anymore skills-he only needed evolutions at this point, and he didn't need many of those either. Also, Johan was running low on SP, so he decided to only use one E-Dice and to save the other nine.
He evolved Jet Cannon, and he got Tornado. Tornado was a skill that created a large windstorm. Tornado did not create a life size tornado, but it was still pretty big.
Erica got a couple of new skills too. Her first one was Firewall, which used Mana, and her second one was MP Recovery. Having finally unlocked Mana, Erica knew that she had a reliable defense against magicians and fighters now.
Firewall created a column of fire out of the ground. It used more Mana if the column was higher and/or wider, and less if it was smaller or lower.
Her other skill was Fire Absorption. It let her absorb flames to heal injuries or replenish Fighter EP or Mana. This was a passive skill, which made it much more useful.
Their first mission was a dangerous one, and it was meant for Squad B. But, Johan took it anyways, and most of Squad F opted out. Only himself, Erica, and a young boy named Frank accepted the mission.
"Our mission is to drive away a small Globalous squadron that is raiding a small storage facility that our guild owns. It's a few miles away, but we can get there quickly. I know the area pretty well, so I can probably open up a warp gate," Johan said.
"Since when did you have a skill like that?" Erica asked, clearly envious.
"This morning," Johan said matter-of-factly.
He opened a warp gate. It costed very little mana, and it only took milliseconds. They were teleported to a large park. Johan opened a GPS app. He was 600 feet off of his intended location, but that was okay.
The three ran to the other side of the park. There was a strange looking warehouse, and upon using Clairvoyance, Johan saw that it was an illusion. However, he didn't have any skill that could get rid of the illusion, so they were stuck.
He asked Frank if he had any idea on getting rid of illusions. Frank was only 10 years old, but he apparently was a level 74 Ability user. But, he was new to the guild, which explained his placement. He said he knew.
"This type of illusion is an illusionary barrier," he began. "It causes the observer to be unable to see or enter the facility. If an Ability user looks at it, they will be able to see the object's illusion, which is a warehouse here. The real object will unmask itself upon entrance to the barrier."
Johan analyzed the barrier. The barrier was a Tier 3 barrier, which meant it was capable of keeping levels 1-75 out pretty well. It went on an HP system. It had no immunities, so any barrier deactivating spell, regardless of user or level, could easily bypass the barrier. It had a massive 22416 HP, and they had to break through it before Globalous escaped.
After opening the Fabrication, Erica attacked with Manic Kick first. 2800 N + Fighter Body's Kick boost (1000N) + Manic attack boost(x4) + Electric Fire burn damage(no effect on barrier) = 3,417 lbs of force. The barrier was down to 16.6k HP.
Johan used Shadow Implosion. An enormous wave of darkness collapsed into the barrier from all directions. They felt a powerful shockwave that pushed back all three of them at least 12 feet. All the nearby buildings were demolished. The landscape was now barren, and there was no trace of the barrier left. They went back to the real world.
Unfortunately, Shadow Implosion had leaked into the real world. A few trees were knocked down, there were a couple of broken fire hydrants, and a few windows had been shattered. Johan  frowned. Frank was gawking at him, and Erica was both shocked and furious at the same time. He was shocked too. Not only because of the enormous damage, but now he had only 2600 MP left. 900 MP in one attack?! I better conserve this skill. Not to mention, the skill was now on a cool down of 48 hours.
They went into the storage facility. It was not big. From the entrance, he could see the entire thing. No sign of Globalous, he thought. Then, Malicious Aura Detection began going off like crazy. Frank also had Gamer's Body and Malicious Aura Detection, and he was experiencing the same thing. Johan used Thunder Wave, which was now at it's level cap: Level 20. He tried to control it, because at this point Thunder Wave was capable of permanent neural conditions and it had an enormous range. And maxing the skill wasn't even difficult; all he needed to do was upgrade Intelligence, use SP on the skill, and grind for a week with the skill.
But the control didn't restrict the power of Thunder Wave by much. A nearby building's lights shorted out as they were overcharged, and even though he was trying to make sure Erica and Frank didn't get hurt, even they said they felt something.
Suddenly, they heard groaning. Frank realized that they had also used illusionary magic to blend in with the warehouse.
"Uncloak yourselves!" Frank ordered.
Going by the silence, thy assumed that they were refusing. Frank used a skill called Slime, and it revealed all of their locations.
"I repeat, uncloak yourselves."
Silence.
This time, Frank used Acid. It was similar to Slime, except this skill, instead of holding things in place, it burned through things. He threw the acid at the slimy figures, and it started to burn through them. Erica used Firewall to a minimal extent on the figures, and Johan used Re-Wire. That let him jam nerve impulses and rearrange the neural process for a short time.
They uncloaked themselves, albeit unwittingly and unwillingly, and using an old rope that conveniently happened to be there, tied themselves up.
"Who's your leader?" Johan asked, demandingly.
"I am," one of the more powerful looking guys said.
"Give me your name, level, affiliation, and reason for being here," Johan ordered.
"I am Alex Woo, level 38, commander of the Seoul Globalous stronghold C, one of the mini branches of Globalous. Stronghold A is the HQ of Globalous in Seoul, Stronghold B deals with lawful matters, and Stronghold C mostly carries out petty tasks for Globalous. I am here on a mission to search for Uranium here for an update to The Ability chemical and to fix the new weapon we are working on involving mind control. I am unsure of the name," the man, proclaiming to be the leader, said.
The whole time, Johan had been putting it on voice recording. The Re-Wire ran out of time, and it was on a cool down of two hours. When they snapped out of the Re-Wire, Frank put them to sleep. Johan raised an eyebrow.
"Just how large is the scope of your abilities?" Johan asked.
"I was going to ask the same thing. I'll make you a deal, if you tell me yours, I'll tell you mine," Frank suggested.
"Sure, but at the guild. We can't risk anyone hearing us," Johan said, accepting the deal.
     "Deal."
Back at the guild, they brought the Globalous members to the guild police, and after that, were greeted with waves of applause. No one in the guild believed that three relatively unknown, courageous transfer students (Frank is also from America) could be so powerful. Heck, even breaching level 30 was considered quite a feat, yet the twins went past 40, and Frank past 70!
In the eyes of the guild members, each one of them had their own unique trait. Frank was young but incredibly powerful, Johan was ridiculously smart, creative, focused, and persistent, and Erica was the female badass you rarely saw in fairy tales or fantasy stories.
Squad F was now ahead of Squad E and Squad D in prestige because of the nature of the mission and Johan's, Erica's, and Frank's levels. However, they were moved to Squad A, which caused all the prestige they earned for Squad F to go to Squad A.
Johan felt a sliver of disappointment in himself when he found out that Lily was in Squad B. Erica sensed his feelings. "You like her, don't you?"
"Yeah, I kinda do... but I cannot let that get to my head. I mustn't forget why I'm here in the first place-to end Globalous," Johan said, admitting his feelings, but making sure to keep them under control.
"You know, just because you're after one goal doesn't mean you can't have another," Erica stated.
"I know, but a goal like that will only lengthen the time I'm here," Johan said.
"Well Johan, you know we are going to be here for a while right? I mean, making the negating chemical is going to take a long time. Not to mention, it has a high fail rate. We can only stall Globalous for so long. If the plan does fail, which it can and probably will, we're going to end up staying here and fighting Globalous head-to-head instead of sabotaging the product of the evil itself," Erica pointed out.
Johan narrowed his eyes. "Are you trying to set me up with her or what?"
     "Maybe I am."
