Johan was now officially a completely overpowered main character (at least with a personality, of course).
A/N:a fantasy character is much easier to write as one of the three archetypes:starts very OP, has the potential to be very OP and then later becomes very OP, or starts very weak and slowly becomes very OP.
The day he turned 16, Johan hit level 100. The system showed the amount of XP he had amassed, but it was out of dashed lines (4259701/- - -). Johan figured out that meant he could not level up anymore. All the power that he didn't have that he could still get was solely on skill evolutions.
Even though Johan could not get SP anymore via level up, he could still get them from quests and PK-albeit, not as much.
Here are Johan's final set of numbers:
MP:12,555(1212 MP/h)
HP:9,960(844 HP/h)
EP:10,245(925 EP/h)
Level:100(max)
Probability:10
Intelligence:100(max)
Agility:50
Strength:100(max)
Reflex Arc:44
Stamina:100(max)
SP:0
When he woke up, Lily was sitting next to him. She dragged him out of bed. Johan stood up and ran down the stairs, eager to eat. Lily could not keep up. A birthday cake was sitting on the dining table, practically begging to be eaten. But before Johan could cut the cake, Erica stopped him.
"We're both sixteen, remember?" Erica reminded.
Johan pouted. "Awww, I wanted the cake."
Frank cut the cake into fifths. Johan ate his slice in twenty-five seconds. He let out a small burp. Aaron and Erica finished in two minutes. Lily gave her slice to Johan, and Frank finished in ten.
Afterwards, they went to an amusement park. Johan used Re-Wire on the people waiting in line. They cut the line on every ride and food stand. Malicious Aura Detection did go off quite a few times, but that was only normal in such a heavily population-dense region of Korea.
When the sun was starting to set, they left. They were laughing and talking on their way home. Sometime on the way, Johan asked some interesting questions.
"Aaron, what is your relationship with Lily?" Johan asked.
Aaron smiled. "Siblings."
Johan felt relieved for some reason. Then he continued. "Do you have parents?"
Aaron looked down. There was a pause. Lily answered for him. "Our dad passed away. Our mother is in a critical state, so we lived off of support checks in my father's will and jobs from the guild. That's why we were able to live with you."
Johan nodded. Then he asked Frank a similar question. "Frank, do your parents live in America?"
"My mom does. My dad is a high-ranking officer in Globalous."
Johan gritted his teeth. Erica's expression changed from boredom to surprise. Aaron and Lily raised their eyebrows. That's going to be an issue, Johan thought.
The rest of the drive home was in silence. They ate dinner quickly, showered, changed, and gathered in Erica's room. "Okay guys, we really need to plan ahead. What are we going to do in the future?" Lily asked.
Aaron suggested an idea first. "We can get stronger first."
Johan was the only one that had a problem with that idea. "Then what do I do?"
"What do you mean 'what do I do'?" Lily asked, with everyone including her looking confused.
"I hit the level cap," Johan said.
There was a short pause. Frank quickly had an answer. "Evolve your existing skills, create new skills, or learn to control your feelings and your power."
"The first two I can understand, but can you clarify the third one?" Johan asked.
"You know how Gamer's Body makes life into an MMORPG-like setting right?" Frank asked.
"Yes, go on."
"Well, game characters only ever hit with full power. That's our main weakness as Gamer's Body users," Frank stated.
"What do you mean?" Johan asked.
"Even though both of us can control our powers to a small extent, if we only ever use close to full power or full power attacks, we can cause way more damage than we want to."
"Frank, we have the Fabrication for that."
"Johan, don't be an idiot. Within the Fabrication, you still usually end up hurting Aaron, Lily, Erica, and sometimes me. And, property damage isn't restricted either. It's reduced, but as a fellow high-level Gamer's Body user, I can tell you that our level of power is not something even the Fabrication can handle. Remember how Shadow Implosion leaked into the real world?"
Johan nodded.
"Now that you're level 100, you're Intelligence should be really high, and your individual skill levels should be pretty high too. If you used Shadow Implosion in current form, I wouldn't be surprised if half of Shadow Implosion's damage leaks into reality. And, don't forget, you have that ridiculously OP yet unusually self-damaging skill that turns you into a human nuke. If you were to use something on that scale in your current form, it just might destroy the Fabrication altogether. Also, about controlling your feelings-"
"No need to elaborate on that one," Johan interrupted.
"So, you understand now, don't you?" Frank asked.
Johan nodded. "Okay Lily, put getting stronger as #1."
Lily scribbled something down on a notepad. Then she gave the four of them a thumbs-up.
"Number two, find Globalous HQ," Erica suggested.
"No need for that. It's right under Stronghold A," Frank told them.
"Okay, then number two, attack Globalous HQ," Erica re-suggested.
Frank shook his head. "Johan had a point back then. If we want to stop Globalous, we have to neutralize all sources of the chemical first."
Johan smiled. "Did that. I snuck into Globalous HQ a few days ago after asking Frank what I should do. I accidentally erased his memory of talking to me that night though. After sneaking in, I shut down the distribution of the chemical globally, replaced the distribution with the antidote, and then neutralized all the contained chemicals in other facilities remotely."
Frank sighed. "Another reason why Johan needs to learn to control power."
"Then what do we do?" Erica asked.
Frank came up with another idea. "Then we have to neutralize all the chemicals that were distributed beforehand."
Johan smiled again. "Didn't do that. But, I know how many people currently have The Ability, how many of those people have it activated, and how many samples of the chemical were distributed.
"Currently, 35 million people have The Ability. Three and a half million have it activated. 77 million samples have been distributed, with 26 million chemicals having been injected. 4 million injections failed. 13 million received The Ability via infection or birth."
Frank frowned. "That's a massive increase. In April, there were 1 million people with The Ability, and 450,000 had it activated. Also, The Ability, in the newest update, is now technically a viral disease. It invades the body from another person as the chemical, but the chemical is now simply a shell of protein mixed in with a lot of elements and subatomics-basically a virus; originally it only transferred as the actual chemical itself, and thus could only transfer via injection and birth."
Johan reassured Frank. "Don't worry Frank. As we speak, antidotes are being distributed and injected by Globalous themselves. I've edited the chemical composition, color, and odor to look exactly like the actual chemical. Sooner or later, they'll notice, but for the time being, we can rest assured that Globalous is distributing vaccines for us. And, since we have an older form of The Ability, we cannot spread it."
"Then what do we do?" Erica asked.
"Since we can't do much about the chemical itself, we should attack Globalous head on," Aaron said.
"That's what I've said all along!" Erica exclaimed, with clear irritation in her voice.
Lily scribbled more things down on a notepad. Then she nodded.
"Alright everyone, we should sleep. We'll think of what to do after that once we've gotten to that point. Good night everyone," Johan said, flying back to his room.
Frank followed suit. But, instead of going into Johan's room, he turned the corner, ending up in Johan's late grandfather's room.
Aaron went into the guest room. Erica went to her room. Lily thought that since it was Aaron's turn on the bed and her turn in the sleeping bag, she might as well as ask someone else if she could sleep with them in their room.
Erica told her to ask Johan. When she did, he nodded. But, he went to Erica's room first to complain.
"You set me up, didn't you?!" Johan demanded.
"You know you like it," Erica teased. "And besides, this is your chance to confess!"
Johan rolled his eyes. He went back to his room. Lily was already sound asleep. He fit himself onto the bed next to her. She suddenly woke up. In a drowsy voice, she said, "Johan, I hope we can sleep together more often. After all, we're going to be risking our lives in a matter of time, so we might as well as enjoy ourselves until then."
Johan nodded, and then hugged her close to his chest. "Yeah. We should."
Together, they fell into a deep sleep.
