Scott POV

ScottLee: Emmet?

doggo_prince: at your service

Scott_Lee: haha. what are you up to?

doggo_prince: about to take a shower, you?

Scott_Lee: just lying in my bed, being all bored

doggo_prince: bored? You wanna fix that?

Scott_Lee: what?

doggo_prince: I'm gonna assume that you live near where I met you

Scott_Lee: I mean, I guess?

I drop my phone in fright when I hear the name 'Scott' being yelled from outside. I look out to see Emmet, standing with his wide grin, wet hair, and a bare chest.

"What are you doing here?!" I whisper-yell.

"Come on! Let's go on an adventure!" He whisper-yells back.

I start climbing on the frame, before hesitating, what are you doing? Sneaking out in the middle of the night with some boy you've only met less than a week ago?

Fuck it. Fuck this town, fuck Sean, fuck Adrian, and especially fuck you.

I reach towards the tree near my window, starting to climb down it as fast as I can. But I get stuck about half way down.

"Everything alright up there?" Besides the fact that my mind is in a whirlwind, and legs are shaky, and I don't know why I'm here- I'm doing alright.

"I'm ah... I'm a ittle stuck,"

"You silly bean sprout, just jump, and I'll catch you," he says, as if it's the easiest thing to do.

"Fuck, fine," I leap out of the tree in his direction, and the last thing I see before my mind goes blank- his face, and the starry sky.

---

"Tell. Me. Everything,"

"Oh Hope, you gossipy bitch," she looks at me with puppy-dog eyes, "fine," I sigh, but I secretly hoped she would want to talk about it.

"Okay so, first off, Sean's as asshole, and I don't know why," I say, though I kind of do know, "but I met this guy, and his name's Emmet, and... fuck,"

"He's hot," it's a little simple way of putting it, but I guess so.

"Hell yes," I agree, "but he's also very rebellious, not only did we sneak out at night, but we went to an abandoned building, some kind of church or something," and we did, and it was pretty amazing.

"Fuck, can he be my boyfriend? I mean I'm gay, but damn, I wanna go urban exploring!"

"First, um... first of all, he is not my boyfriend, and second of all you can! It would be the perfect opportunity for you guys to meet!" I say, taking a sip from my water bottle.

"Well, speak of the devil! Scott look who it is," I hear Hope say exaggeratedly.

"Wha-" I begin to ask, before the sudden shock sends the water to spit out of my mouth, which is followed by violent coughing and "it's *cough* all *cough* right! *coughing and chocking* I'm *cough* fine! *gasping for air*". And that officially the worst exchange I've ever had with Emmet.

"Howdy Emmet! I'm Hope, Scott's loving, caring, and all-around amazing BFF," she whips out her hand for him to shake, "and what are you?"

"What? um, to Scott? Well, I don't know," he says shooting a glance in my direction, with his inviting almond eyes, "I guess time will tell," he added, winking at me, causing me to quietly gasp in flusterment.

"Well, would you look at the time! Looks like I'm ready to leave you to alone," she says, winking at Elliot. She then fixes her face into a serious glare as she turns toward me with her pointed finger, "and don't you forget about the exploring!" She snarls, luaghing as she gallops away, her chains rattling as she does so.

"I'm sorry she's-"

"Wonderful? Lovely? Absolutely!" He explains, "look, Scott, you don't have to worry! I pretty much love everyone and everything!"

"Really," I say, with a sort of filrtacious tone, though, I am no where near the flirtacious type so it probably failed.

"Yes, but, there is one thing," he leans in close, like a secret is about to be foretold, "sometimes I will adore someone, they would have this power over me, like I'm hypnotised... I would be mad for them," holy fuck, I think, as he leans in closer, his warm breath blowing over my cheek, "absolutely insane," he backs away giggling.

God, cute-ass boys are fucking great... Most of the time...

"You're such an ass-hat," I say with a wide grin.

"Hey! First of all, rude," he's laughs, "second, it's almost summer! Aren't you excited?" He says, throwing his hands up.

I groan in response, "ugh, no! That means it's almost time for me to graduate, my senior year! I don't even know what I'm gonna do with my life!"

"But that also means adventure! Sure you don't know what you're going to do, but that makes it more fun!" I think about his words for a second, finding that I've heard it so many times before. But this time... It feels more real, I don't know, as if it's not just a copy and pasted quote from a Tumblr post.

"You optimistic little bitch," I say, standing up from my seat.

"Where are you going?"

"An adventure!" I say, giggling.
