(Third Person POV)

The next 48 hours passed in a blur for the team at the Phoenix. After Raelynn was brought out of the hotel room by Jack, she was put under mandatory quarantine for the next 48 hours to make sure that the antidote was doing it's intended. And from what everyone's heard, it has. As more hours pass, Raelynn is closer towards being her normal self. The only person that was allowed to see her in the quarantine was her doctors at the Phoenix, which everyone including Mac was surprisingly ok with. They did want to take her to the hospital but because of the sensitive nature of Murdoc being involved, they figured it's better to keep her in their ICU. That way they could keep a better eye on her.

Mac never wanted to leave Raelynn's orders, but for his personal care, he did. And the fact that Maddie had ordered him back to work. Working those 48 hours, knowing that she was just on the floor below him and he couldn't do anything stayed on his mind. He had almost lost her. There was nothing more he wanted to do then take her in his arms and take her away from all of this, even if it was for just a short period of time.

When he finally got the ok from Maddie to go down and see her, he was more than ready to. Per Riley's advice, he had actually showered and made himself look halfway decent.

He paused outside of the door to the ICU, his hand on the door handle. He couldn't stop the thoughts that started to rush through his head. What if somehow, this whole experience changed her into someone she wasn't, was Mac going to be able to handle that? Only time will tell.

Letting out a breath, he swung the door open and walked into the ICU. It looked like any standard hospital floor, except Raelynn and Jack stood off towards the side. A smile was brought to his face as he watched the interaction between the two of them as they laughed.

Clearing his throat, Mac spoke up. "Well look at you Raelynn- coming back from the dead." Other than her skin still holding a pale color, she looked like the same beautiful girl before all of this had happened.

"Well, you know me. I don't like to try anything halfway." Coming over towards him, she wrapped her arms around him, burrowing her face into his chest. "Remind me never to you know- not almost die again."

All he could bring himself to do was proceed to wrap his own arms around her, placing a kiss on the top of her head. "I'll try to do that." For the next few minutes, the two of them just stood, relishing in the fact that they both had each other back. His head was rested against Raelynn's and by the time he looked up, Jack had long since vacated the hallway.

"Have the doctors finished checking you over yet?" His voice came out as a whisper across his lips.

"Yeah, they say I'm good and everything's the way it's supposed to be. They want me to stay here for the next hour or so for observation."

"That's good. In the meantime-" He pulled away from her, taking a step back. "There's something I have to finish checking out for work. When I'm done, I'll pick you up so we can go home."

"We?" Raelynn raised a curious eyebrow at Mac. "Since when do 'we' live together?"

"I kind of- moved into your place since you've been gone, I hope you don't mind. I just needed to be closer to you with everything-" Mac cleared his throat, wanting to stay strong for Raelynn. He knew that if he started talking about what happened while she was gone, he wouldn't. "Anyways, I'll see you in the next hour or so. I love you." He didn't wait to hear her response as he started to walk towards the exit. As Mac opened the door to leave, he could hear Raelynn say that she loved him too, which is all he needed.

(Back at Raelynn's shop)

It didn't take long for Mac to find his way towards Raelynn's shop. He thanked God as he opened the unlocked door, entering the place. For no one being in the building for almost a week, the place was still almost immaculate looking.

Mac knew what he was looking for, he just had to find it. Walking over towards the shelving units she kept everything on, he made his way to where she kept the boxes. His scanned the entire unit, searching for the one box he had his eyes set on. It couldn't be that hard to find, it?

After a few minutes, his eyes brightened once he saw the box he was looking for, 346-A. He pulled it off the shelf, surprised at how light it was as he set it in front of me. There was a reason Raelynn told Mac that he was to look through this box if she were to die. Raelynn didn't die, thank god, but he still needed to know what was in the box.

Mac made quick work of opening the rather small box. It was empty, except for a single sheet of paper. He had yet to read Raelynn's handwriting, but it was notarized by the courthouse, so whatever it had on it was legit.

In case of an emergency or my death, I Raelynn Matthews, relinquish ownership of my business to my boyfriend, Angus Macgyver. He'll know what to do.
