This morning I woke up and got ready for my day. Meaning I took a shower, brushed my teeth, got dressed, did my hair. By this time it was 12:30 and I receive a call from Matt.
"Hey, mall chick!" He greets.
"It's Kole." I say plainly.
"I know, was just kidding." He explains. "Anyway, is it cool if I pick up up around, like, one?"
"Yeah, sure."
"Text me your address."

"Well what's Matt short for?" I ask as we sit on the beach shore.
"Matthew." He answers.
"I thought so, I think I'll start calling you that."
"No, don't."
"Why not?"
"Cause I don't like it." He answers.
Because of my past of being bullied, I can understand the reasons of not wanting to be called by your real or full name.
"Kay." I shrug.
He studies me for a second.
"What?" I ask.
"I don't know." He shakes his head. “I'm trying to figure you out."
"What do you mean?"
"Like, your so different from any other person I know." He explains.
"Different?"
I have been labelled this very many times, in fact, I've been labelled it by myself.
"Like you didn't even ask why I don't like being called that."
"Do you want to ask?"
"No, just, why didn't you?"
"Because it's none of my business."
Isn't it obvious enough? His name has nothing to do with me anyway.
In life I've figured out, we all have different stories, some are more tragic to others. What I may find terrible, another might find as harmless as breaking a nail to someone else. It's because we are all brought up differently. We shouldn't judge each other because of the way we feel.
I'm not saying I don't judge people. Because I do, I probably judge someone everyday, I just think we shouldn't.
He smile while shaking his head. "Ask me a question."
"Why?"
"Because, I want to know what you're thinking."
"Well why don't you ask me a question?"
He nods. "What's your favorite movie?"
"Well it was 'The Ten Things I Hate About You', but recently, I've changed my mind to 'The Fault In Our Stars'."
"Really?" He ask, turning his noes.
I nod.
"Why such ordinary movies?"
"The first one, I guess everyone likes to believe at least one fairytale. The second, it's not ordinary at all, it has the realities of life in it."
"No it doesn't. Other than the fact the chick has cancer, they fall in love the end."
"You haven't watched it, have you?" I ask knowingly.
"Of course I have."
"No you haven't."
"How would you know anyway?"
"Because if you had, you would had never made that statement."
He stares at me. I feel as if he were about to make an argument, but instead he just smiles. and shakes his head once more. “You are something else."
"I would hope so. I don't got time to be something ordinary."
"Trust me, you aren't." He says. "In a good way." He adds.
"You're not so bad yourself."
He smiles and looks back at the never ending water. "What do you usually do around here?"
"You just move here?" I ask.
"No, I just moved out."
"How old are you?"
"Seventeen." He answers.
"And your parents are cool with that?"
"Well, I just moved out of my brothers."
"That's cool, I guess. I live on my own too."
"And your parents are cool with that?" He mocks me.
"Well, mom didn't have much of an opinion, she's dead, and dad... well he was royally pissed. I had to go through this huge court thing with him to prove he isn't stable blah blah."
"Well damn."
I shrug. "What about your parents?"
"Long story." He shrugs.
Wow. It can't be any longer than what I just said. But I'll keep my opinions to myself.
I receive a text from Zack.
From Zack:
I need you to come over ASAP!!!
To Zack:
What's going on?
From Zack:
I opened my door and my dog ran out. My parents are going to kill me!
I sigh as I look at Matt. "I got to go. My friend needs my help.
"What's wrong?"
"He lost his dog."
"Need a ride?"
I nod "If you wouldn't mind."

"Is this the friend from the mall?" He ask turning the corner.
"The only friend." I answer.
"Yeah right." He smiles. "How can a person have one friend."
"You become me."
"I'm sure-"
"Stop! That's him." I panic.
Matt slams on the breaks. I open the door. "Oreo!" I yell.
He runs over to me and I open the back seat door. "Get your ass in the car!"
Oreo happily jumps in the car, leaving me to shut the door behind him.
"Oh my God, where is your friends house, we need to get him out of here pronto!" Matt panics.
"Why?"
"He's going to shed everywhere!"
Oh he's one of those types.

We all stand on Zack's porch. And by all of us, I mean Oreo, Matt, and I. I hadn't knocked on the door yet, and Matt was just about to leave.
"I really think we should hang out more." He tells me.
"Really? That's kind of stupid." I say plainly. "It's not like we'll be friends forever, we'll just be wasting time."
"What makes you so sure?" He questioned. Oddly enough there was a smile on his face as he spoke.
I knock on the door. "That's how it is with everybody."
But I was wrong.
