“I can't believe your doing this to me."Kole says crossing her arms and shaking her head.
“Part of the deal was I did everything, best for your health." I sigh.
“I'm not running a fucking fever, Matthew!" She snaps.
“Hey!" I say frowning. “Don't talk to me like that. There are kids in here."
“It shouldn't matter, we're all here for something." She scoffs. “Hey kid." She says to a little boy across the room. “You crazy? Are you psychotic like me too? Have some supper power or something, do you move shit around with your mind? Or is it like, you throw shit around when you have a pissy fit? Maybe-"
I put my hand over her mouth before she could continue. “Stop it!"
She rolls her eyes and moves my hand away. And I sigh.
She's been like this for the past fifteen minutes. In other words, she's been like this ever since she found out I got her a therapist. And she's been acting pretty immature. I've never been embarrassed by anyone, let alone Kole, but ever since we entered the waiting room, I can't say either of those are true any more.
Soon we were called in and we go into a room with two comfortable chairs in front of a desk that had a slightly bigger chair than the two. It was a very calming room.
Kole huffs as she sits in one if the chairs, and I sit next to her.
“Honey, don't be mad." I sigh putting my hand on her knee.
“You knew I would hate this." She says shaking her head.
“I did." I admit. “But wouldn't you do the same for me?"
“No!" She declares. “I know what these people are like. They don't give a shit about me or you! They're paid to pitty you."
“Maybe they-"
I stop when the door opens and a tall brunette woman walks in. She has a warming smile.
“Hi, I'm Dr.Stergen." She says extending her hand towards me.
“Matt." I reply, shaking.
“And you must be (Y/n)." She says extending towards Kole.
Kole looks from Dr.Stergen's hand, to her face, then to the ground. “It's Kole." She says plainly.
Dr.Stergen looks at her clip board.
“Um, yeah. That's her name, she just goes by Kole." I explain.
“Gotcha." She nods. “Well Kole, I have just a few questi-"
“Seventeen. Just graduated. Schizophrenia, PTSD, Depression, I'm bipolar, and at one point I suffered anorexia. I live with my boyfriend. I don't have any hobbies. I worked at Wendy's but got fired for not showing up more than twice within fourteen days." Kole says in one breath, blankly.
Kole's POV
“And if you're going to tell me that you understand because someone you know went through this, my response to you, is cool." I answer before she can finish.
Dr.Stergen looks shocked as she stares at me. She blinks a few times before she nods, and writes on the paper in the clipboard. “Would you be the boyfriend?" She ask pointing at Matt with the pen.
He nods. “Yes."
She scribbles something else down. “Kole, when did the symptoms of-"
“Depression: eight, Bipolar: eleven, PTSD: Fourteen, Schizophrenia: My whole life, and Anorexia started when I was eleven, ended when I was twelve."
