One month later
My time is often occupied with Matthew. I haven't been this close to someone ever since my sister left me behind...
Matthew has this personality that you don't find in most people. Like, most people when I would be negative, they would try to make me turn the bad times into good. What I mean is, they would try to tell me the positives of the bad past situations. Matthew doesn't, usually he just turns the present into the positives. I think Matthew accepts the past is the past and you can't change it, something I have problems with myself. But that's okay, Matt helps me forget the past.
For the past month I can actually say that I've smiled. Not a fake smile, not that I do that usually. Who do I have to be happy for other than myself? It's not a smile from spite. It's a smile from actually being happy. The happiness all comes from Matthew. It doesn't even come from Matthew actually, it comes from his energy. Anything we'd do together, he'd find a way to make it at least a little enjoyable. Hell we've done the dishes together and that was even fun. Although I did end up mopping afterward.
"You have something on you're face." Matt says with spaghetti in the side of his mouth.
"Where?" I ask wiping my face.
Suddenly he gets a handful of noodles and smushes it to my face. "Right there." Casually answers.
There is a knock at the door as he laughs and stands to answer.
"Be prepared after you come back Matthew!" I say grabbing a napkin.
"I will be. And what have I said about calling me that."
Matt's POV
I open the door. Surprisingly enough, the sibling I would least expect stands before me.
"Oh hey Nash. Where've you been?" I greet.
"Where have I been? Where have you been?" He realitates.
"What?"
"Dude, where is your phone?"
"I broke it." I answer.
"What? Why?" He scoffs.
"It was an accident." I shrug. "Kole and I were-"
"Kole? Is that the girl mom was telling me about?"
"Probably." I smile. "You want to meet her? She's here."
"Wha- No I don't want to meet her, what is wrong with you?"
"Dude why are you freaking out-"
I am cut off when a pot of spaghetti is poured down my head. Kole's laugh is followed by the action.
"I would have waited." Kole laughs. "But I gotta go... wait who are you?"
"Matt would you like to explain?" Nash offers.
"Kole, I'm going to kill you. But this is Nash, my brother, Nash this is Kole, my friend."
"Cool." Kole nods. "Anyway, see you tomorrow." She shoves the bowl into my grasp and walks off.
I look around thinking about how to get the mess up.
"I'll get it later." I say out loud.
Nash invites himself in and I follow behind after shutting the door.
"Tomorrow? What's tomorrow?"
"Nothin'." I shrug.
"So she just invited herself over?" He questions.
