If You Only Knew

Chapter 3

Kiko's POV

Stupid. I'm really stupid.

Of course Devon doesn't love me that way. She's only ever seen me as a friend and that's all I'll ever be to her. But for some reason, even know I already know that, my feelings for her never change. No other girl has captured my attention like she does. But then again, no other girl knows me like she does.

As I continued to mentally kick myself, I felt a pair hands wrap around my neck playfully.

"Hoy bro! Bakit ka nag eemote diyan?" laughed Elmo.

"Oo nga, parang brokenhearted ka dude," added Donny with a chuckle.

Jerome looked smug. "Alam ko kung bakit ganyan yan. Hindi parin siya gusto ni Devon."

Elmo and Donny "awwwed" in response.

"Shut up dude. That's not it. Exhausted lang ako."

"Weh," drawled out Jerome. "Kilala ka namin bro. Palagi mo siyang tinitingnan."

"Yeah man, you always have this longing look on your face when you stare at her. Obvious sa lahat na may gusto ka sa kanya, except her. It's kind of sad actually," added Elmo.

I froze.

I didn't think anyone noticed the way I looked at Devon. I just couldn't help it. I loved to take in her features; from her beautiful, brown eyes and her cute nose. Not to mention her perfectly shaped lips. God, her lips were so inviting and every time I looked at them I wanted to kiss her really bad. It took a lot of self-restraint for me not to.

I groaned. "Am I that obvious?"

"Dude, you're just lucky that she's oblivious."

"Ugh, bakit ba ako ganito? This isn't like me. I don't act like this around other girls."

Donny sighed. "Devon isn't like every other girl you've been with. She's different and you know it."

Before anyone could say anything else, we were called by the staff to start getting ready to get on stage.

Our first ever stop on the mall tour was a complete success. Thousands of people came to support us. They screamed our names and held up signs to show their love. My heart swelled up with love and appreciation for all of my fans because without them, none of use would be where we are now.

It especially warmed my heart when Devki fans cheered for Devon and I when we were on stage together. When we sang our duet, I got the usual feeling of butterflies in my stomach. And listening her sing about love, even if it was just for show, made my heart skip a beat.

This girl has me under spell, and she doesn't even know it.

As I was replaying the memories of the show in my mind, Devon walked up to me with her dazzling smile.

"Gusto mo ba sumama sa amin mag dinner?" she asked.

"Um yeah, sige. Saan? Sino yung sasama?" I managed to get out.

"May isang Chinese restaurant daw na malapit dito na sabi ni Kisses aye masarap. At lahat ng Walwal gang lang."

"Ah okay sige, I'm in."

And with that Devon wrapped her hand around my arm and dragged me to our friends. The boys gave me a knowing look and Elmo added in a wink when they saw that Devon was holding me. I just glared in response. The boys snickered.

"Okay, so everyone's ready to go?" asked Donny.

We all either nodded our heads or muttered a yes.

"Great! So who's riding with who?"

"Well actually, kami lang naman ni Kiko ang nag dala ng sarili naming sasakyan," Elmo replied. "I have a seven seater car, pero Kiko, I know you have a sports car that only seats two."

The way Elmo was talking, made it seem like he was planning something.

Kisses gave me a mischievous smile. "Well maybe you and ate Devon can go together na lang and the rest of us will ride with Elmo."

My eyes widened in response. Devon looked up at me.

"Okay lang yan sa akin kung okay lang yan sa yo."

Just hearing her voice made my knees go all wobbly. I felt my voice get caught in my throat and I coughed extremely loudly to clear it. Everyone else just snickered beside me.

Seriously, does everyone know how I feel about her?

"Yeah of course! That's fine with me." My voice cracked a little as I said this and I mentally kicked myself for making myself sound like an idiot.

What are you doing to me Devon?

"Perfect! Now that's settled, umalis na tayo. Kanina pa ako gutom," exclaimed Donny.

"Donny, palagi ka lang naman gutom eh," teased Kisses.

We walked over to my car in a comfortable silence. Being the gentleman that I am, I stood in front of the passenger door and opened it for her. She smiled and gave me a quiet thank you. We sat in the car for a few minutes, the silence continued to envelop us. Finally, Devon was the brave one who broke the ice.

"So, sa tingin mo magiging successful yung movie natin?"

"I think so. Ang daming promotions eh, and everyone has a large enough fan base to get the ball rolling. Plus ang galing mo kayang umarte."

She let out a soft chuckle. "Alam mo, ang sweet mo din minsan no?"

I quickly turned to look at her before returning my eyes back to the road. That quick glimpse was just enough for me to see how truly beautiful this girl was. Her spirit was strong and she was determined to reach her goals no matter what. She was kind to everyone around her and stayed true to herself.

She deserves the world, and I know that's not me.
