Ship: Jimin×Jin
Summary:
Jimin notices Jin's been acting odd lately.
--
Jimin likes to find meaning in things. He finds it between the lines of a book, in a song bird’s chirp, and in his boyfriend’s morning routine. So, when he realizes that Jin seems to be upset about something, he doesn’t question smothering him with hugs and kisses. But for the first time in what seems their lengthy relationship Jin doesn’t respond to it. His mind seems to be more preoccupied, somewhere far from where they are. Whenever he looks at Jimin his eyes look a little glassy and it’s started to make Jimin worry. Not because Jin might have lost interest in their life together, they’ve shared each other’s company for a very long time and have never come across a dry love spell, they live a life filled with routine and happiness.
People always ask them how they’ve managed to live together for so long, wondering if they get tired of each other. He doesn’t mind it, Jimin loves waking up to the sleeping face of his boyfriend. Loves alternating who they spend the holidays with. Enjoys watching Jin get ready for mundane routine. Jimin appreciates the simple things life offers him and he makes the best out of them. He finds beauty and comfort within those small moments where it's just him and Jin. Today, he watches as Jin stumbles out of their bed with a slouch in his back and a frown that appears to be permanent the past couple of days. Jimin just watches him from underneath the covers. It’s become a habit for Jimin to watch as Jin goes through his morning routine. First, he heads to the bathroom, showers, brushes his teeth, blow dries his hair, and this is what’s odd. He goes and spends 20 minutes moisturizing his skin, lathering himself in lotion. It might seem normal to other people, but Jimin knows. Jin has certain ticks whenever there’s something that bothers him, and over the years that they’ve spent together Jimin’s grown to pay attention to those ticks. Jin lathering himself with lotion is a big one. He watches as Jin walks out of the bathroom all shiny and plump from the sheen of their lotion. Jin disappears into the closet and comes out with a fabulous tailored suit. However, Jimin sees it, the second tick, the inability to match his trousers with his vest.
Jin’s currently dressed himself in a classic set of black slacks, but his waist coat is usually saved for more classy nights. It’s a deep red color that almost looks black but has vibrant scarlet pinstripes that draws the eye in more. Jimin can’t bear to look at him so out of it. He’s still curled in the bed when he coughs into his blanket. Jin’s attention immediately goes to Jimin who’s grinning a little too smugly,
“I see you’ve decided to start a fashion revolution today.”
Jin’s face looks confused, his thick brows contort together and his lips form a small pout.
“Morning love.”
“Morning.”
Jimin watches as Jin walks closer to him and bends over to plant a chaste kiss on his hairline. It’s sweet, innocent, and warms Jimin’s heart. Today he realizes it again, just how much he loves Seokjin. It bothers him that Jin might not realize how spaced out he is, but then again Jimin doesn’t truly know what it’s like to work long hours in production studios. All he knows is that Jin earns lots of money, and has too many astonishing hit dramas. Also, that Jin’s studio project right now focuses on him being an author famous for publishing groundbreaking novels.
“You look unhappy? Is everything okay?” Jimin asks.
Jin makes a move to sit on the bed, his large frame hovering over Jimin, but all he can feel is the warmth his body provides him. He begins to rub the side of Jimin’s ribs in a soothing manner, and says,
