Summary:

If this was any other morning, if Taehyung didn’t have to go to practice, then he would have woken his boyfriend with gentle kisses to his cheeks, maybe a few against his cute nose and then, when Jimin had opened his eyes (and probably batted his hand against Taehyung’s chest whilst giving him a look of what Taehyung could only describe as fond exasperation (no matter how much he tried to deny it, Taehyung knew Jimin loved being woken up with kisses) Taehyung would kiss him properly, pressing Jimin back against the covers until he was sighing softly into Taehyung’s mouth.

--

Taehyung huffed as his alarm went off, rolling over and sitting up in bed so that he could turn off the beeping machine quickly in order not to wake the sleeping figure stretched out next to him. Jimin was lying with his head facing Taehyung, his mouth open and his pink lips looking as soft and enticing as ever. If this was any other morning, if Taehyung didn’t have to go to practice, then he would have woken his boyfriend with gentle kisses to his cheeks, maybe a few against his cute nose and then, when Jimin had opened his eyes (and probably batted his hand against Taehyung’s chest whilst giving him a look of what Taehyung could only describe as fond exasperation (no matter how much he tried to deny it, Taehyung knew Jimin loved being woken up with kisses)) Taehyung would kiss him properly, pressing Jimin back against the covers until he was sighing softly into Taehyung’s mouth.

Jimin was still fast asleep when Taehyung left their apartment half an hour later, his kit bag over his shoulder and a piece of toast hanging from his mouth. The morning air was cold and Taehyung shivered, pulling his jacket shut tighter over his chest. This next week was going to be a busy one - not only did Taehyung have to finish up work on his final art piece (he’d gone with an ocean theme in the end, painting the image of a lone diver swimming down deeper and deeper into the dark depths) but he also had football practice every single day. The big match was on Friday evening and it was the talk of the uni campus. Taehyung could sense the oncoming exhaustion already.

As Taehyung approached the football pitch he saw the team in various states of array - Jongin had his jacket zipped up all the way to his chin and was jumping up and down on the spot in order to keep warm whereas Sehun was lying on the bench next to him, holding his phone above his head as he scrolled down the screen. Hoseok was stretching with Jackson and Taehyung could see Seungcheol talking with their coach.

“Hey Taehyung,” Sehun said, not looking up from his phone as Taehyung stopped beside the bench.

“Hi hyung,” Taehyung said as he dropped his bag on the ground by Sehun’s feet. “Where are the kids?”

“Still in bed probably,” Sehun shrugged.

Sehun was right - ten minutes later, just a few minutes before practice was due to start, Taehyung watched Yugyeom speedwalk down the path to the pitch, pulling along a sleepy Jungkook by the sleeve of his hoodie. Just behind them came the rest of the team - Wonwoo, Soonyoung and Mingyu.

“You’re lucky I’m feeling generous,” Their coach, Minho, said as they approached. “Or I’d make you run extra laps for being late.”

Wonwoo opened his mouth to protest - they weren’t actually late, technically they had a few minutes to spare - but shut it after Minho directed a stern look in his direction.

“Everyone on their feet,” Minho told them, clapping his hands together. Sehun groaned as he rose from the bench. “Stretches first and then I want to see you running laps.”
