Jimin and Seokjin babysit Taehyung's kids

"Come on, Jinnie! It will be fun!" Jimin exclaimed, incredibly sure of himself, "It's just a few hours, we can handle it," he flashed his billion dollar smile and Seokjin dissolved into a puddle of goo at the sight. He had no control over the younger and whatever Jimin says, goes. There was no fighting it.
So that meant he was going to watch Taehyung's four devil children on his and Jimin's night off. What really took the cake was that it was on their date night.
What possessed Jimin to think that that was okay was beyond Seokjin. He knew why because Jimin had spent an hour convincing the older man that it was a good idea to practice on these kids before they have their own baby that would be here in fifteen weeks. Jimin had terrible baby fever and that was also how he had convinced Seokjin to have their own. It hadn't taken much convincing since Seokjin had wanted to have kids at some point. He figured that now was the perfect time to start a family.
"And we're not getting paid?" Seokjin asked cautiously, hoping that there was at least a reward for his valiant efforts of wrangling four hyperactive kids. He meant it more as a joke, not truly expecting pay.
Jimin pulled a face like he was scandalized and a hand went to rest on his chest, "No! We are doing this as an act of service for my best friend! I wouldn't even think about asking him for money when playing with children is a reward enough!" Jimin shouted, hands then going to cradle his protruding belly, "Besides, no one is going to pay us when we watch our own baby. And later when our little girl is here and we need a night off, Taehyung can always watch her for us," Jimin chirped. He had already made the arrangement with his best friend long before. Probably before either of them even had kids, probably before Seokjin even met Jimin.
Seokjin sighed and had to agree that that sounded a lot better than having to pay each other every time they watched each other's kids. It wasn't fair that Taehyung had four times the number of kids they had, though. Jimin and Seokjin didn't even have their kid yet, she was still tucked snugly in Jimin's womb. She still had a ways to go until she would be in their arms.
Seokjin really didn't want to do this. He loved kids, yes, but watching them for a few hours was exhausting and especially when they aren't his own kids. He still had no choice. Jimin was going to drag him along anyway.
An hour later and Seokjin was driving to Taehyung and Yoona's suburban house. Jimin had spent that hour telling him how much fun his best friend's kids were. Jimin had spent many days at Taehyung's house playing with the little boys he had and had a bond with them already, but Seokjin had met them a handful of times when he was at Taehyung and Yoona's summer barbecues. The way Jimin described them made it sound like they were well behaved and hadn't cut off Taehyung's hair a few months back in his sleep and flushed an apple watch straight down the toilet, ruining the plumbing and flooding the basement because of it.
Seokjin was honestly terrified.
Walking into the Kim household, there was a whole new aura that smacked Seokjin in the face. It looked like a hurricane had ripped through the house, tossing toys and dirty socks everywhere. A dog walked through the maze of toys like it was normal and Seokjin didn't remember there ever being a dog in the large family. He might have been buried among all the toys and puzzles littering the floor.
"It's so good to see you!" Yoona greeted, hugging Jimin first and then Seokjin next. Yoona was incredibly sweet and she always greeted Jimin and Seokjin like family even when she didn't know Seokjin as well as she knew Jimin, "Thank you so much for doing this for us. We haven't had much time to ourselves since Jungkook was born," she explained and Seokjin noted how she seemed way too excited to get out of the house.
Taehyung was next to pass into the entryway of the house with a small baby balanced on his hip. Jungkook had grown much bigger since Seokjin last saw him, "Hey, hyung! It's been so long since I last saw you!" he greeted, side hugging the older man. Seokjin made eye contact with Jungkook and was surprised to see baby Jungkook smile at him, wide and gummy with no teeth in sight.
"It has been a while, Tae," Seokjin smiled, eyes never breaking contact with Jungkook. Jungkook looked intimidating along with being so cute, contradicting the two different contrasts. His smile had long dropped onto an open-mouthed stare at the adult, "Jungkook has gotten so big since I last saw him. How old is he now?"
It was Yoona who answered this time, "He is about to turn six months in a few days. He's just growing so fast, just like a weed," she cooed, fitting her hand into Jungkook's finger. His chubby hand gripped onto her finger and he waved his hands, excited to see his mother even though he spent all day every day with her, "Pretty soon he'll be out of the house and having his own babies."
Pretty soon? Seokjin asked himself. He didn't comment on how he was seventeen and a half years away from that and instead watched as Taehyung handed the baby to Jimin. Jimin immediately connected with the baby and Jungkook squealed, screaming as he waved his closed fists in the air, smacking Jimin in the cheeks on accident. Jimin laughed and snuggled his nose into Jungkook's neck and placing half a dozen loud kisses there. Jungkook laughed and Seokjin smiled, finding his husband too adorable for words.
"Kids! Uncle Jimin and Uncle Seokjin are here!" Taehyung yelled and that's when all hell broke loose.
Three kids came barreling into the entryway, all still young and all very rowdy. There was Yoongi, the oldest one, and then the twins, Hoseok and Namjoon. Five years old and two year old twins. They were gorgeous kids, thanks to their mother and father's genes, but they definitely took after Taehyung when it came to personality. They were loud and inquisitive, asking you a billion questions all at once and never stopping. They were already chatting Jimin and Seokjin's ears off as they asked questions and told them about their day. Seokjin could already feel a headache coming on.
Before Taehyung and Yoona left, they left a list of things that pertained to the boys and their bedtime routine. There was a list of what they could and couldn't eat and what they could and couldn't watch on tv, and many things of the sort. Jimin had asked if he could give Jungkook a bath and the parents couldn't say no, so they gave instructions for that as well.
The pair said their goodbyes, bouncing in excitement at getting to go out without their four boys for once. Before the two had left through the door of their house together, Taehyung had turned back once more with a serious expression and he wished them, "Good luck," before shutting the door behind him and his wife.
Seokjin felt panicked.
"We should make them some dinner so they can get their energy out before they go to bed," Jimin offered, knowing how energetic the boys get after they ate. Eating now would give them more time to run around before crashing into bed. Hopefully, by then, they would go to sleep on time.
"I'll work on that then. What do kids eat? Goldfish?" Seokjin asked jokingly. He quickly fixed himself at the expression Jimin made as though Seokjin had said something too ridiculous to comprehend, "I'm kidding, I'm kidding! Sheesh, I'll make them some mac and cheese. I know they eat it by the pound."
While Seokjin worked on the dinner, Jimin herded the boys into the living room where he would play with them. He had never played with them just by himself, he always had Taehyung, Yoona, or Seokjin with him when he was with them. Now he was alone and watching them by himself.
Jimin lowered himself onto the couch, a feat he found difficult the bigger he got. He sat Jungkook in his lap, admiring what an adorable baby he was. Jungkook looked a lot like Yoona and Jimin had seen her baby pictures before. Jungkook looked like her clone.
Once settled in the pregnant man's lap, Jungkook squealed and leaned forward, nuzzling his squished nose into Jimin's belly as if he knew there was another baby in there. Jungkook's hands grabbed onto Jimin's shirt, unintentionally tickling Jimin into laughing and scaring the baby. Jungkook stared up at Jimin with wide eyes and the adult was quick to coo, "I'm sorry, baby. You tickled me," he bounced the baby on his leg and pulled ridiculous faces to try and cheer Jungkook up. The baby was quick to forget and smile back, reaching forward again to grasp at Jimin's round belly.
"Baby in belly?" it was Hoseok who asked, suddenly very interested in Jimin. He had been playing with toy trains with Namjoon when he heard Jimin's laughter. Hoseok loved laughing and the sound of someone's laugh always attracted his attention. After hearing his honorary uncle laugh, he had paid attention to everything afterwards, "Baby?" he asked again, a small finger poking into Jimin's round belly.
Hoseok was too young to truly understand. He had struggled to understand the concept of pregnancy when Yoona was pregnant with Jungkook. Jimin had been there several times when Hoseok and Namjoon would poke at the swell of her midsection in confusion. She would explain, but neither understood. She didn't expect them to anyway.
Namjoon piped in poked his finger right next to Hoseok's finger, "Baby," he chirped more confidently. Namjoon was more attentive than Hoseok and retained knowledge better than his older twin, "Baby."
"Yes, this is my baby," Jimin nodded, balancing Jungkook up on his feet next to him. Jungkook wobbled around but was quick to readjust, "My baby will be here soon and she can play with you boys all the time when she gets a bit bigger."
"Will Uncle Jimin come by a lot after the baby is born?" Yoongi asked, suddenly very interested. He was still playing with his set of action figures, his younger brothers' toys a little too "babyish" for him.
Jimin hummed, "I'm not so sure. As you know, babies take a lot of time and attention. I might not come over as much," he broke the news, a frown coming to Yoongi's face, "But!" Jimin started, "I will come over as much as possible to see my favorite boys," Jimin played, scooping Namjoon and Hoseok in the same arm for a hug while his other hand held Jungkook up still. The baby was bouncing up and down on his feet still.
"You better!" Yoongi shouted as he joined in on the group hug, wrapping his own arms around Jungkook and Jimin. Jimin smiled into the group of four boys, holding them close to him as his daughter was sandwiched in between the little bodies. She was squirming around now, trying to push Namjoon who was pressed against Jimin's belly off.
Seokjin had just finished dinner and headed into the living room where he noticed that it had fallen silent. He stepped foot into the small room and watched as the four Kim Devils™ smothered his husband and Seokjin knew it. The boys were eating his husband for dinner.
"Seokjin ahjussi! Come hug us!" Seokjin's heart broke a little at being called 'ahjussi', but the smile that adorned Jimin's face was enough to trudge over and dive into the pile of five, soon to be six Kims.
Seokjin wrapped his arms around all the boys, only room for his hands to touch Jimin on the shoulders. Jimin smiled blissfully at his husband among all the little heads around him. Seokjin smiled back and reached down to place a kiss on Jungkook's head, covered in a fine layer of peach fuzz like hair. Seokjin laughed as the baby looked around, trying to find where the kiss had come from.
Seokjin guessed these kids weren't so bad after all.
