Summary:
Jimin's always one with surprises. That's probably why Namjoon just love him to bits.
--
If someone would have asked Namjoon the thing that he loved most about his boyfriend was his sweet and kind hearted nature. Jimin was a jewel in Namjoon's eyes; a rare, beautiful jewel.
They have been together for almost three years. And during those five years there were up's and down's but no matter how many countless times they fought or even break up, they would always find each other again and again.
Jimin was a year younger than him, back then Jimin was finishing university when they first met and honestly Namjoon still remembers the day that he had first seen Jimin. Park Jimin was just standing next to him, admiring the same art that he too was observing at a local museum downtown of Seoul. His side profile was adorable; plump lips, long eyelashes and he has some baby fat around his cheeks.
Namjoon remembers how Jimin caught him staring, giggled even when he quickly looks away and letting out a fake cough, thinking that he didn't just got caught looking at a stranger. But Jimin..Jimin kept on looking at him with a wide smile and suddenly asked; "Care to join me for coffee?"
And the rest was history.
Today, on his 23rd birthday, he was woken up by feather light kisses on his forehead, both sides of his cheeks, his chin and on his lips. Ths sun was shining through the blinds, slits of light decorating the room which also casts some light over Jimin's half naked body.
When Namjoon had finally awaken from his slumber, the first thing he saw was his boyfriend laying next to him, hand propping his head as he greets Namjoon. "Good morning, birthday boy." he grinned, earning a lazy smile from the older. "How do you feel?"
Jimin was in Namjoon's red and blue plaids, legs bare, fair and soft. His hand rests on Namjoon's bare chest, their blanket covering the rest of his modesty. "Hey, baby." Namjoon turns around, pulling Jimin by th waist and buries his head in the youngers neck. He leaves slow and warm kisses on each patch of skin until Jimin was giggling and he has to lightly tap the olders arm to get him to stop. "I feel old, but good morning to you too."
"Come down, I made a special birthday breakfast for you." Jimin said, letting his chin rest over Namjoon's head, his fingers came to comb messy, tangled blond hair and then leaves another chaste kiss on his forehead.
Namjoon whined, pulling Jimin even closer and tangles their legs together. "I rather stay here and cuddle with you."
"I know, but you have work in two hours and I don't want you to be late." Jimin replied, fingers still busy combing trough thick locks.
Namjoon snorted, "I seriously don't want to go to work. I just wanna lay here and cuddle with you. Dad will understand."
Being an only son and the sole heir to a multi-billion company, Namjoon is already practically holding the company. "Besides, it's a Sunday. Remember?"
"I know it's a Sunday babe, but your dad wants to see you for the upcoming project. Remember?" Jimin sassed back and Namjoon just lets out a chuckle out of defeat.
"Fine. But just give me ten minutes." Namjoon said, as he tightens his hold on Jimin's waist. "I miss you and I want my birthday cuddle."
Jimin shakes his head, smiling. "Okay, okay. Anything for the birthday boy."
And just like that they fall into a familiar silence. The warm feeling, wrapping around the both of them like a blanket gave a sense of satisfaction towards Namjoon. They've had a fair share of lazy, morning cuddles but sometimes they would always ended up having slow, morning sex and this was quite different. Namjoon felt calm, warmth and most importantly; he felt loved and at home.
Jimin was his home, his other reason why he still exist to this day, strong and happy. Jimin had always been there for him and sometimes he'd do more just for Namjoon. Said that he was content just by seeing the smile on Namjoon's face and how could you not broke down into tears after hearing that?
"You're a year older now." Jimin said after a while. He presses another kiss, this time on the crown of Namjoon's head. "Can't believe that another year has passed."
"It's barely there."
"What?"
"Time. Time is barely there. You won't even realize it but as soon as the sun is up, the next thing you know it's already a sunset."
"Yeah..you're right."
"But you're timeless, Jiminie."
Namjoon looks up, his dimples appearing as he boops Jimin's nose causing the younger to blush. Then he hides back into the crook of Jimin's neck, leaving another kiss on the pale skin. "All those years, the times we've spent with each other would always stay close to my heart."
"I love every second, minute, hour, day, week, month and year I've been with you. You're so perfect for me and I wouldn't trade you for the world."
"Dummy.." Jimin sniffles, to which Namjoon looks up again to see the younger crying. "This was suppose to be your day."
"Aww baby.." Namjoon cooed, hand coming to cup the others cheek. "I just wanted to tell you how much I love you, and to tell you that on my birthday is like a gift already. To think that I'll spend my day with someone like you, I'm so lucky to have you, Jiminie. You know that?"
Jimin sniffles again, this was certainly not what he had in mind before but he just can't help but cried out more tears. Namjoon just has a knack for being so caring and poetic. Even though they could sound so cheesy sometimes but that's just how he is. A very complex yet is an open-minded person.
The younger of the two suddenly moves away, reaching out for the side table and pulls the drawer, taking out a small red velvet box, tied with a white silk ribbon. "It's been a few years," Jimin started as he sits up, Namjoon copying him. "and I know it's still early but I wanted us to promise rings."
Jimin unties the ribbon and opens the lid to reveal two silver bands, one smaller than the other and has a flowery detail which Namjoon guessed was Jimin's. The latter pulls the larger one and holds it up so Namjoon could see it closely. Inside of the ring, engraved tiny numbers which read their first date together and a scribble of writing which said; "You are me."
"Jiminie.." Namjoon started, eyes wide and was practically speechless. He keeps changing his gaze towards the ring and Jimin's face, didn't quite know what to do.
"Look," Jimin holds up his ring this time. "mine says, I am you." he said, eyes disappearing into pretty moonlit crescents.
Namjoon quickly pulled Jimin into a hug, the younger climbing onto the others lap. "I love you, baby. I just love you so much."
Jimin cupped Namjoon by his cheek, kissing his nose and wiping the lone tear that finally escaped his eye. "I love you too. So much. And that will never change."
"Happy birthday, hyung. You're a year older now."
