"hey kaori, we should hang out sometime!" yukie said approaching kaori after practice had ended.

"is there a reason why?" kaori asked.

"well i was just thinking, we haven't hung out in a long time. is it wrong of me to want to spend time with my favorite underclassman?"

"oh, well i guess not," kaori said a light dusting of pink arising to her cheeks.

'i'm her favorite underclassman?' kaori thought.

"so what time are you free?"

"i'm free tomorrow."

"great! we can head to the mall and then out to dinner afterwards."

"sounds fun," kaori said smiling sheepishly.

"oh! we can make it a double date!" yukie said excitedly.

kaori stared at yukie with confusion written on her face, "huh?"

"you know, bokuto and me, and then you and akaashi."

"what about me?" akaashi said walking towards the two.

"i was saying how you, me, kaori, and bokuto should all go out on a double date this weekend," yukie explained.

"double date? but me and kaori aren't da-oW! kaori what the hell was that for?" akaashi asked rubbing his side. kaori had elbowed him in the side and was now giving him a sideways glare.

"never mind, double date is fine," akaashi grumbled.

"great!" yukie said to the two now glaring at each other. "bokuto!" yukie yelled trying to get the latter's attention.

"yeah?" bokuto said

"we're going on a double date this weekend," yukie said smiling.

"huh? with who?"

"kaori and akaashi," yukie said looking towards the two who were currently elbowing each other.

"oh," was all bokuto said, his voice laced with disappointment.

"well we better get going, right bokuto?" yukie asked.

"yeah, right."

"bye guys!" yukie said dragging bokuto along behind her.

kaori and akaashi stopped elbowing each other to say their goodbyes. the two soon followed after the couple and left.

"why would you tell yukie yes to going on a double date?" akaashi said.

"i don't know, at first she just said she wanted to hang out but then she said it could be a double date and i didn't have the courage to say no," kaori said slightly guilty that she dragged akaashi along.

"you're lucky we're only platonically dating or else i would've dumped you by now."

"for your information i would be a great girlfriend," kaori said sticking her tongue out at him.

"keep telling yourself that."

"rude."

the two went their separate ways after saying goodbye. later that night kaori texted akaashi to meet her at her house at 12pm so they could head to the mall. thankfully for akaashi, the weekends meant he could catch up on some sleep. although his insomnia stopped him from being able to fall asleep, it didn't stop him from staying asleep.

akaashi woke up at 10:45am feeling slightly rejuvenated after getting 6ish hours of sleep. he got out of bed and rubbed his eyes while stretching slightly. he showered, washed his face, brushed his hair, and then headed out to the kitchen.
