christmas break was slowly approaching and akaashi had no idea what to do over the break. according to kenma, kuroo would always throw a mini-christmas party that consisted of close friends.

other than that akaashi had nothing else planned for the week of vacation they would get. though what akaashi didn't mind was that he was going to be able to catch up on sleep.

and that's exactly what he did.

when christmas break finally arrived after an agonizing long wait, akaashi was more than happy about it. the first day of break he could successfully say he did absolutely nothing.

akaashi had hoped he didn't have to do anything the entire time during break, but earlier in the week kuroo had invited akaashi and kaori to the christmas party which was on christmas eve.

akaashi had realized that bokuto was going to be at the christmas party too and he automatically felt his face heat up and a slight smile form on his face.

after recieving the message from bokuto that he and yukie weren't a thing, akaashi wanted to text him back and just say 'that sucks bokuto. hey in reminder i'm single.'

obviosuly akaashi would never send that in a million years, but he was happy.

-

"so what do you guys want to do?" akaashi asked as he sat down on the couch.

it was the third day of christmas break and kaori and kenma had come over for a sleepover. tomorrow was christmas eve so the three were just planning to go to kuroo's christmas party together.

"oh! we should watch christmas movies to get into the holiday spirit!" kaori suggested with a twinkle in her eye.

"sounds good to me," kenma said looking up from his phone.
the two joined akaashi on the couch.

"what do we watch?" akaashi asked pulling up netflix on the tv.

"the grinch before christmas?"

"no, obviously we should watch the polar express," kaori stated as if it was the most common knowledge.

"the grinch who stole christmas is better," kenma muttered.

"the fuck did you just say pudding head?" kaori said clearly offended.

"the polar express sucks. the grinch who stole christmas on the other hand is a timeless and carefree classic that everyone loves."

"well the polar express has amazing animation and it has unique story elements. it's only the best christmas movie ever," kaori said confidently.

'are they suddenly movie critics?' akaashi pondered.

"oh please, that movie sucks," kenma retaliated.

"yeah well...you suck!"

"i'm gay for a reason kaori."

"yeah well suck my nonexistent di-"

"okay! let's stop this from going any father," akaashi said butting in the conversation he had been watching unfold.

"akaashi what do you think? which movie do you think is better?" kaori asked.

"neither. obviously the best one is rudolph the red nose reindeer."

kenma and kaori just stared at him.

"what?" akaashi asked after the two kept giving him "is this boy really serious?" looks.
"it's a good movie," akaashi defended.
