Nikah is the marriage contract that is signed between the two who have agreed to marry

Nikah is the marriage contract that is signed between the two who have agreed to marry.

Wali is a term which means Guardian. The father is the wali of his kids.
The wali is the representative of the girl in the masjid where the Nikah is signed.
The mahr is mentioned in the Nikah contract and no dowry is allowed from the girl's side to the boy's family as it is HARAM.
After the Nikah a wedding get together/feast is organized by the groom's family which is called Walimah.
All the expenses of Walimah is done by the groom's side.
It is advised to keep a wedding simple and less expensive.
And it is highly advised to keep the men and women section different in such place.

O my Lord! Grant unto us wives and offspring who will be the comfort of our eyes, and give us (the grace) to lead the righteous.

  1) It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar:that the Messenger of Allah said: "If anyone of you is invited to a wedding feast, let him accept

  1) It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar:
that the Messenger of Allah said: "If anyone of you is invited to a wedding feast, let him accept."

[Ibn Majah]

2)Ibn 'Umar (Allah be pleased with them) reported Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) as saying:

When any one of you is invited to a feast, he should accept. 'Ubaidallah took this feast to be a wedding feast.

[Muslim]

3) Abu Huraira (Allah be pleased with him) used to say:

The worst kind of food is the wedding feast to which the rich are invited and the poor are ignored. He who does not come to the feast, he in fact disobeys Allah and His Messenger (ﷺ).

[Muslim]

4) Anas b. Malik (Allah be pleased with him) reported that 'Abd al-Rahman b. 'Auf (Allah be pleased with him) married a woman for a date-stone's weight of gold and Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) said to him:

Hold a wedding feast, even if only with a sheep.

[Muslim]
