And now we get to all enjoy this lovely new chapter fresh from Author-chan. Hope you like. See you at the end.

Asuna's POV:

Asuna felt like she was falling apart. What would she do now. Without The Aincrad Liberation Force's protection, the moment they stepped outside of their territory, Hiruma would swoop down and take them captive.

She slowly started towards her room when she saw a messenger blitz past her and into Thinker's office. A moment later, all of Thinker's captains came charging out, several of them quickly typing messages in their menus as they went. Asuna managed to stop one of them and asked him what was going on.

"What's going on?! You've brought the Knights of the Blood Oath down on our heads! That's what's going on." He yelled in her face before continuing to run down the hall. Asuna looked down the hall after the captains before turning around and heading back towards Thinker's office. She knew what she had to do. It was the only way to guarantee her family's safety. Asuna entered Thinker's office for the second time that day. Thinker wasn't paying attention. He was slouched over with his head in his hands. Yulier had a hand placed on his shoulder, trying to comfort him. She looked up when Asuna entered and her eyes registered surprise.

"What are you doing here?" She asked. Thinker looked up and saw Asuna.

"Whatever it is that you think can change my mind, it won't work. You should leave now. The Blood Knights will have to take out the guild to have any chance of a proper search for you And Kirito, so we should be able to buy you the time to get away. I can give you that."

Asuna smiled. "I have a better idea. You allow me to join your forces on the front lines, and I will hold the Blood Knights back."

(Blood Knights are the Knights of the Blood Oath for those who didn't know)

Thinker sat up. "And what would you want in exchange for your services in the up coming battle?"

"Protection until it is safe for us to leave again. You can give us that much."

Thinker sat back in his chair and thought about it a moment. Then his face became stern and determined. "Very well. I accept your terms. CAPTAIN HONUKA!"

A older looking player in captains armor came into the room. "Sir." He said.

"The Lightning Flash is going to fight with us. I'm assigning her to you. You are to stay with her and help protect her at all costs. Do you understand?"

"As you say. I will do my very best." Honuka said. "Come m'lady. Battle awaits."

Asuna smiled in thanks to Thinker and then followed after Honuka, who was already running full speed down the hall. Thinker stood up and came round to the front of his desk.

"Do you think she'll make it?" Yulier asked. Thinker shrugged.

"You can never tell in situations like this, but I have a feeling that that women would move heaven and earth itself if it would save her husband, and I'm very much in favor of her doing just that."

Thinker opened his menu and accessed his inventory. A moment later, a set of very high level armor appeared on him. "Now then, let's go fight some Blood Knights." Yulier smiled at him and kissed him on the lips.

"Yes dear husband. Let's."

<Timeskip>

Asuna quickly followed Honuka to their assigned place to defend, which happened to be the town plaza. Asuna and the other defenders stood alert with weapons drawn, waiting, ready to attack in the direction of the slightest sound.

"Where are the Blood Knights?" Asuna wondered. "If they were attacking, then they should've charged full force into us already. Something is up." Suddenly Asuna heard the sound of the portal in the center of the plaza. She and the others turned to face it as the anticipated enemy came flooding out; dozens upon dozens of players with weapons raised and screaming war cries as they met the defenders at full speed.

The silence now lay broken, replaced by the clash of metal on metal and screams of pain as players were hit. Asuna quickly went to work, with Honuka by her side, she began to cut through any foes that dared approach her. The battle... had begun.

And that is it for this chapter. Yes, it's short, but this chapter was mostly meant to be the calm before the storm. Next chapter will be much more exciting. Until next time though... BYE!!!
