Chapter 7

Calums POV

I'm sure that the boys had been in my room now for at least 3 hours, hardly talking, just sitting there in silence.

My insides shuddered as coldness spread up my hands and passing my wrists. Them not speaking wasn't helping me to stay focused and I was slowly slipping away from the world. Please say something, I thought to myself, trying not to lose the battle waging inside my body.

'I'm going to get something to eat, want anything? Michaels voice echoed through the silent room, pulling me slightly back to sanity.

'I'm coming with you mate, what about you Luke?'

'No, no I'm alright. I couldn't eat if I tried.' I heard the other two boys sigh, before I felt one after the other kiss my forehead. The door creaked open and i heard it slam behind them before their footsteps echoed down the corridor.

I felt a hand grasp mine, knowing it must be Luke. I tried to wiggle my fingers hoping they would move enough to give me hope, to give him hope, but I couldn't.

'C-calum. Please wake up.' I felt something watery land on my arm and knew he was crying.

Don't cry, please.

'I..I'm sorry. I don't mean to cry, it's just you mean so much to me Calum and I don't know what I'd do without you.'

I heard my heart monitor in the room start beeping faster and I heard a light gasp come from Luke's lips. Oh dear. I'm sure my face would be red by now if I wasnt lost in my head.

'W-well, Ive been told you can hear me so Im gonna give this a go.' I could tell he was nervous as he stopped to cough. 'Ever since the day that we met, I've always liked you. You're funny, you're talented, you're cute, but most importantly you're my best friend. I've always held you a little tighter to me than the other boys when we hug, I've always looked at you a little longer, and I've always tried a little harder whilst I'm around you. And I'm not sure if you can hear me, but if you can, I want you to know how much you mean to me. I am in love with you Calum Hood, since the minute I set my eyes on you I knew you were special. And I don't know if this is a coincidence, but your heart seems to beat a little faster for me. Only me, and I am in love with you.'

My heart was jumping out of my chest as I felt myself being shifted over slightly and the boy I've known better than myself joined me on my bed, his arm wrapping around my waist as his head snuggled in to my chest.

I felt warmth spread through my arms, my head catching up with my body as the numbness was forced back towards my knees. I tried again to move my hand, trying to let him know I was still here, to know I was still his. I concentrated hard, knowing I had to put all my energy into one little action.

I heard a gasp, and someone clutch my pinkie finger. I had done it, I had managed to move my little finger, even if it was only once I was certain it was true.

I thought back to him telling me he'd liked me from the beginning, wandering why my heart monitor had been jumping around like mad. And then it hit me,

I loved Luke Hemmings and he was the only one who could pull me out of my mind.

well oops it turned into a cake fanfic. i didnt mean to but i just ship them so hard and it was enevitable really:) i found it really hard to write this chapter bc the feels but hopefully you enjoyed it :)
