Lukes POV
The door was flung open and a cheery looking nurse bustled in with a trolley, immediately hooking things up to Calum and adding more medication into the drips.
'I'm Nurse Stella, I've been appointed to take care of Calum for the week. How are you boys coping?'
She took a second to look us over before laughing lightly. 'Not too well I take it?' We shook our heads slowly, unsure as to why she was so cheery.
She pulled a stethoscope out from around her neck and pressed it to his chest, listening intently to his heart beat.
'Stable condition, heart beat fine.' She then hovered her ear above his lips, listening for his breathing.
'Breathing deep, oxygen intake healthy.' She pressed her hand to his forehead, then his cheeks and then his arms and stopped at his elbows. She frowned.
'Numbness spread to elbows, slipping deeper into coma.' I almost did a spit take as I looked at her, wide eyes.
'What do you mean by numbness?' Ashton asked quietly, wanting clarification.
'Oh well when you're in a coma, you start to get cold and when the coldness has reached your brain it is hard for the person to recover and come out of their thoughts.' She frowned, before the smile took over her overly cheery face again. 'But I've heard you can help if you manage to get into his mind and pull him out with you.' She took the trolley in her hands and started pushing it towards the door. 'See you tomorrow!' She chirped, and then she was gone.
'Wait, what?' Michael asked, seeming as shocked as me.
'Get in his head? How's that even possible?' I asked, confused, but a flicker of excitement sparked through me.
'It's simple.' Ashton mumbled, pulling out his phone and tapping his thumbs against the keypad of google. We scrolled through 6 pages of the search before my eyes landed on a news article dated from 1983.
'Click on that.' I commanded, pointing at the news article.
'Dude, thats old.' Michael pointed out, but I just shrugged, watching the page load up.
My eyes widened in disbelief as I read the words on the screen. This was it, I knew it would work - it had to.
