Calum's POV
The room was dark, but I could hear a faint buzzing sound echoeing through my ears. My heart was beating slow but loud, thumping in my chest as I tried to keep even breaths. My head was spinning and so I tucked my knees into my chest, dropping my head down in attempt to lessen the pain. I could almost see the word 'death' engraved into the front of my mind, and my hands were trying to reach out and grab it. Only I wouldn't let them.
I knew that Luke was in here somewhere, searching for me. And I wanted to call out to him so he knew where I was, but my voice stayed mute. My worst fear was that Luke had stumbled across the memory of when I had cut and he no longer loved me; who would love me after that.
And then I heard the door crack open, white light flooding the entrance to the room. But I was still in the dark, and I feared that I always would be.
'Calum!?' Michaels voice filled my ears, his desperate pleas for me to be here tearing at my heart. But when Luke's cracked and broken voice joined, it was like being stabbed in the heart with a knife. Pain, pain and more pain. I could see them, roughly through the dark fuzz, but Luke's shape was more prominent.
I let a whimper escape me, my calls for help muffled slightly by my hand.
And then his arms were around me; safe. I felt warmer, happier than I had been in what felt like months.
I couldn't concentrate well on the words that were leaving his mouth but he wiped away my tears before picking up my arm and kissing every single one of my imperfections.
I was sobbing but I lifted his head with my hand, looking him right in the eyes. And words left my mouth for the first time in forever.
'I love you and I can't believe you found me.' It came out croaky but Luke didn't care because I pressed my lips softly to his, my whole body erupting with warmth.
'We need to go.' He hummed, standing up and offering me his hands. I tried my best to take his and stand up, but my legs stumbled. I yelled out in pain as I fell back on to the hard floor, my legs having buckled underneath me. 'Cal, baby, please.' He begged, and his voice was filled with sadness. I grimaced but stood again, leaning my weight fully on his shoulders. I could see the tiniest bit of light coming through a crack in the door, and so we slowly made our way over and felt around for the door handle.
'Mikey!' Luke called out, seeing the boy waiting in the darkness by the door.
'Calum.' He whispered, embracing me in a hug. I didn't mind, but it all went horribly wrong when he placed a kiss on my lips.
I gasped jumping back, but it had already caused its impact on Luke as he started crying.
'No no no, Lukey please.' I sobbed, but he was already out of the door and into a room which I knew was going to cause more trouble than we already had.
