Ashtons POV

I couldn't help it but I was crying. Why had Michael kissed Calum? He and I both knew that Luke and Cal were a thing whether they admitted it or not.

I had been sitting in this same chair, alone, for three days now and I couldn't remember what it was like to have a proper life. I hadn't spoken in ages, my voice feeling sore and unused.

I watched the small screen as words typed over three different sections; one for each of the boys. I couldn't read Luke's thoughts, they contained so much pain and hurt that I thought I would start cutting again just from that alone.

Calum was screaming and punching Michael; he was angry and upset. And when he yelled 'Get out' I knew what I had to do.

My eyes wandered over to Michael, he was scrawled over the floor with a pale face and closed eyes.

'I'm sorry.' I whispered, before pulling the wires off of his head. The machine vibrated, before one of the thought trackers disappeared off of the screen.

'Michael? Wake up.' I demanded, leaning down to check his breathing.

'Ashton?' He muttered, opening his eyes a little so I could see he was definitely alive.

'Oh my gosh, don't ever do that to me again.' I breathed, leaning down to rest my head on his chest. His heart was beating fast, and I lay listening to his heartbeat for a while. 'I like you Mikey.' I stammered, unsure as to why I just said it. 'B-but I know you like Cal.'

He left that sentence in the air, his breathing quickening and his hands rubbing soft circles on my shoulders.

'I-I didn't say that...I didn't like you too.' he gulped, his eyes staring into mine intently.

I half smiled, but remembered that the whole situation was a mess.

'You and Cal, need to sort this out.'

'I know.' He kissed my forehead softly, leaving my head tingling. 'Just give me time.'

Calum's POV

I couldn't think about Michael now, he was hopefully still alive. I had to find Luke.

I walked down the corridor, hesitating outside every door. But somehow I ended up facing a small black looking space in front of me, just about big enough for me to get through.

Was that where Luke was? Maybe.

I looked through it, no shapes becoming prominent in the darkness. And so I decided this was where I would look. And just as I walked through it I heard someone yell from behind me.

'Calum, wait!'

But just as I recognised Luke's voice, my whole body erupted in pain, my face contorting in the same way Michaels had.

And Luke was no longer in front of me but a white hospital room, as I gasped for breath and sat bolt upright.
