Lukes POV

My head was dizzy and my chest felt tight as I called out to Calum.

'Calum! Wait!' I knew he was looking for me, but he was looking in the wrong places. I saw him turn around in shock, but it was too late as he disappeared from my sight and everything around me disappeared.

A white light was shining bright in my eyes and everything I did was painful. I was lying on the floor in the middle of who knows where, choking and coughing as my head span and I started to heave. I hoped this wasn't what it was like to die. I hoped I wasn't dying.

The light was getting closer and I was starting to shake, fearing the worst, when suddenly something jolted through my chest and I screamed in pain. My heart was beating too fast and my breathing was irregular and shaky. I felt it again and I curled up into a ball, it feeling like I was being stabbed repeatedly. Tears prickled at my eyes as I felt the light getting less bright and my breathing hitch.

I was going to die.

*3rd Person*

Michael and Ashton were both crouched on the floor next to Luke, every second stretching out ahead of them. It had been four minutes since the doctors had entered, and they were yet to succeed in breathing life back into their friend. Calum, however, had been so nervous and distraught that he had held his breath by accident. He had blacked out with only the thought of being without Luke for the rest of his life. None of the 3 boys had any faith that Luke would be brought back to the world, but still hoped that a miracle of some sort would happen.

But what none of them had expected to happen was a short gasp of breath to escape Luke's lips, his heart monitor starting to beep slow then fast.

He was alive again, but only just. And the three boys couldn't have been more happy for that fact, for neither of them could imagine a life without him.

Calum's eyes fluttered open, hearing the irregular beep of the heart monitor. Obviously his drips and medications were still attached, having only woken minutes ago himself, but he struggled against them in attempt to see Luke. He grew frustrated, the wires binding him down, and soon gave up, having to be satisfied with leaning against the back board of the bed.

The blonde haired boy, in Calum's opinion, even looked beautiful when he was only just living. His hair was flat against his forehead and his mouth was hanging open slightly, an oxygen mask pressed against his face.

'Are you alright?' Ashton asked Calum, feeling like a responsible older brother. Calum nodded weakly, grabbing Ash's hand and squeezing it loosely. The boys needed each other, for the past few days had been hectic.

Michael stayed next to Luke, feeling upset that the boy almost died and they weren't even on good terms. He needed to tell Luke that Calum loved the blonde boy and not him, for he felt increasingly guilty about what had happened.

But the rise and fall of Lukes chest was enough to convince Michael that everything would soon be okay, and they, hopefully, would still be friends.
