"You give me reason to feel what i feel.
When everything is under attack.
You got my heart, I dont want it back." Alex sung dancing around with Evie, Doug, Lonnie and Carlos. The five had formed a band after Ben's coronation and was currently working on a set to perform for the twins birthday.

"Guys that was amazing!" Carlos grinned from his seat at the drums.

"His right now we just gotta perform like that on the day." Lonnie agreed from the keyboard.

"We're going to be great." Alex laughed.

"Doug we really need to go we have dinner." Evie gasped checking her phone.

"I should make a move to it's getting late." Lonnie hugged the others before grabbing her bag and heading off leaving just Alex and Carlos.

"Hey Carlos before you go would you mind running through one more thing with me please?" Nerves filled Alex stomach.

"Sure what song?" Carlos took his seat again.

"It's actually a new one..... here." Alex passed over the sheet music before pulling on her guitar. "Jump in when you're ready." Alex started off playing she knew every cord by heart now, she'd been working on this since she got back to Auradon.

ALEX- We all got nightmares in our dreams
We look for someone to believe in us and show us the way
And make it okay
The world can be dangerous
There's something so rare in your veins
Not a single thing I would change
And oh, if you only knew how I see you
Would you come alive again, alive again?

I, I need you to understand

I don't mind your shadows
Cause they disappear in the light
I don't mind your shadows
Cause they look a lot like mine
And listen to me, it's okay to be afraid
Just walk like you're never alone
I don't mind your shadows, your shadows
Baby, I don't

Pictures in our head of what we're supposed to be
Measuring ourselves, but where is the love?
Where is the love?
The world got us wonderin', wonderin'

I, I need you to understand

That I don't mind your shadows
Cause they disappear in the light
And I don't mind your shadows
Cause they look a lot like mine
And listen to me, it's okay to be afraid
Just walk like you're never alone
And I don't mind your shadows, your shadows
Baby, I don't

And all these voices in our head
Well they keep screamin' louder and louder
But they won't pull us under

Baby, I don't mind your shadows
Cause they disappear in the light
And I don't mind your shadows
Cause they look a lot like mine
And listen to me, it's okay to be afraid
Just walk like you're never alone
And I don't mind your shadows, your shadows
Baby, I don't.

"Wow Alex when did you write that?" Carlos was in awe.

"I started working on it when I was on the isle."

"It's about him?"

"Partly, but it's also about all of us. We all have things we're not proud of or others dont agree with and we need to be able to embrace each other flaws and all. I know it sounds cheesy." she chuckled at the last part.

"It's a great song, you should put it in the set for your birthday." Carlos smiled as the two made their way ou the music room. he sun had set revealing a sky full of stars that shone over head as the pair walked back to the dorms.

"What when did it get so late?" Alex exclaimed looking up at the sky.

"Time fly's when you're making fun."

"Thanks for staying behind."

"Anytime."

Alex stood at Harry's and Giles door armed with bags full of popcorn, sweets, fizzy drinks and movies.

"Ok just take a deep breath and knock, you can do this Alex." Alex sighed trying to over come how nervous she had become at seeing Harry again for the first time properly since her return from the isle. She took a deep breath and took the plug knocking on the large wooden door.

After a few minutes the door finally opened revealing a grumpy looking Harry.

"Hard first day?" Alex laughed seeing the homework spread out all over the table.

"Dont get me started, I have been working on this for hours." He groaned.

"Well it's your lucky day I just happen to be great at remedial goodness. Plus I brought movies and snacks." Alex laughed assessing the crumpled up pieces of paper where Harry had been trying to figure out the answers to no prevail.

"Isn't that cheating?" Harry smirked.

"Noooo of course not.." Alex joked. "Ok maybe, but you taught me to be a villain so now I'm repaying the favour." She hopped onto the bed placing out her supplies in front of her.

"If it ends anything like me teaching you to be a villain I'm in." Harry chuckled taking a seat next to her, his eyes searched hers as his hand glided across her cheek. He lightly kissed her soft lips. It felt so good be with him again.

"First we need to get your homework finished, we kind of need you to make a good impression." Alex pulled away an-able to hide her smile.

"What ever you wish princess." Harry agreed.

"So first question. You find a see something you like but can not afford do you? A Steal it. B Break it or C Save up for it?" Alex read from the sheet.

"Well on the isle you would steal it and if you couldn't you break it."

"What would I do?" Alex tried to give him a new way to look at the question.

"You'd have enough money, you're the princess of Auradon you could buy anything your heart desired." Harry laughed.

"Correction not everything." She admired the boy who sat next to her. "Screw it." She took the dive moving so she was straddling his lap and pulled him in kissing him.

"You should do my homework with me more often. I thought I had to make a good impression?" Harry chuckled.

"You are, You're making a good impression on me." She said between kisses.

"And what about your parents?"

"We can work on making them like you tomorrow."
