After the events of the morning Alex spent her first period in history of woodsmen and pirates, where she sat on a table with Mal, Ethan , and CJ and a few other students. also in the class but spread across other tables were Evie, Doug, Harry, Chad, Ben, Carlos and Jay. The teacher had been droning on for what felt like forever while Alex found herself struggling to stay awake.
"Alex? So was you listening?" The teachers sudden switch took her by surprise, she startled back into focus. "How did Calypso become mortal?"
"Calypso fell in love with a pirate, Davy Jones who she gave the task of collecting the lost souls of the sea but the task came with the condition he could only return to land once every ten years. When he returned to find Calypso she wasn't never turned up, so Davy Jones conspired with the pirate court to catch and trap Calypso in a mortal human body so they could rule the seas themselves." Alex explained taking the class by shook, she stole a glance over at Harry who was smiling smuggle for he had been the one to tell her the story of Calypso while they was on the isle.
"Very well, but pay attention in future." The teacher muttered in defeat.
"What's up with you? You can barely stay awake." Mal asked as the teacher set off on another lecture.
"I just stayed up quite late last night.." Alex started to try brush it off but Mal's eyes grew wider as she put two and two together.
"So how was your first night back with him?" Mal tried to keep her voice hush but it was clear from how everyone's on the tables attention turned to the two that she wasn't very good at it.
"Wait is that why I got stuck with Gile last night?" CJ asked.
"I did wonder where he went and we just studied." Alex blushed, uncomfortably aware of the fact his sister and her fiancé was part of the conversation.
"Studied, sure." Mal smirked.
"Mal we are not getting into this now." Alex tried to dissuade her friend. Before Mal could retort something had caught Alex's eye, Her attention had be diverted to the end of the table where Ethan was admiring the boy who sat on a near by table, his brown hair was scruffy but in that way that looked effortlessly perfect. His eyes were a shade of emerald green that you couldn't ignore. Alex could see why Ethan was so infatuated with the boy.
"So for your homework I want you guys to go away in groups of 6, Your groups will be numbered one or two. Ones will research woodsmen and Twos will research Pirates tomorrow you'll do a presentation showing your learnings. my first set of ones will be Alex, Ethan, CJ, Harry, Jay, and Wren.my first twos will be Ben, Mal, Evie, Doug, Chad and Carlos..." When the teacher finished giving everyone their groups Alex realised Wren the boy Ethan had been fawning over was in their group, this was the perfect opportunity to get him and Ethan talking. When the lesson finished the groups had agreed to get a head start and meet up over their free period before lunch.
