I stared blankly ahead, my eyes focusing and unfocusing a few times. Minutes ticked by at an unusually slow pace.

Normally I didn't worry about time because I had an unlimited amount of it, but I was on edge. I wanted the day to end truthfully. It was probably just because I hadn't been in her presence today.

After bringing Jayde here for the first time a week ago, it felt like a part of me had chipped away and went missing. I felt oddly exposed, I wasn't sure if she had taken that piece of me or if it was just lost somewhere. I was hoping for the latter, but I didn't particularly mind the former either.

I wasn't sure if that was a good or bad thing.

I showed Jayde my personal space. A place I retreated to in my darkest moments. A place where all my schemes of her impending demise unfolded.

I had brought her to her final resting place and she didn't even know it.

As if she knew she was being thought of my phone buzzed with a text from the dark-haired girl.

From: Jayde (6:23 p.m.)

Come see me. I'm alone.

I rose and eyebrow, even though she couldn't see me. She had already begun to shed her timid exterior.

She was demanding.

To: Jayde (6:23 p.m.)

No hello?

From: Jayde (6:25 p.m.)

Hi. Come over.

I shrugged. I wouldn't withhold my presence from her.

To: Jayde (6:26 p.m)

I would've preferred a please but I'll be there in an hour.

From: Jayde (6:27 p.m)

Perfect.

I flexed my fingers a few times and stood from the wooly carpet I had been sitting on.

The house was starting to dim because night time was approaching. I vaguely wondered why her parents were still out this late. This wasn't part of there usual schedule. They were usually both at home by 5 p.m except for on Fridays. I wasn't going to complain though.

I went upstairs and dressed myself in cotton, heather grey knee length shorts and a t-shirt, and slipped on regular sneakers before leaving my house.

The ride to her house was peaceful. I got to watch the last inkling of sunlight disappear.

I arrived to her house earlier than expected.

I pulled out my phone and texted Jayde quickly.

To: Jayde (7:19 p.m)
