I could barely stand to look at Athena.

The smile on her face mocked me.

I wasn't sure how I could stand to have her touch me like I was all hers when I wasn't. It left a bad taste in my mouth, but I still wouldn't let Jayde go.

The only thing that saved me from my own consciousness was the simple face that I had yet to sleep with Jayde. That was the only thing keeping me intact.

Other than that I felt like a cheat; I felt so human that it was painful. My chest ached with guilt every second of the day and it only worsened when she kissed me, or when I could clearly see the love she had for me floating in her pretty turquoise eyes.

I looked up at the girl, managing a crooked smile.

"You feel so tense," she said, stroking over my cheek slowly. "What's wrong, love?"

"You're so beautiful, it makes me sick."

She blushed, biting on her bottom lip.

"I love you," she sighed, resting her forehead against mine.

I closed my eyes, wrapping both of my arms around her squeezing her tight. "I know."

"You do?"

"Yes, I do."

She moved her head back slightly. "Can I ask you a question?"

I nodded.

"Do you think you deserve it— my love I mean. Do you think you deserve it?"

The question caught me off guard because I knew she already knew the answer to that question.

"Why're you asking me questions you already know the answer to?"

"Why do you feel like you don't deserve it?"

"I'm so fucked up, Athena, " I answered honestly.

"No you're not," she tried to reassure me, holding my face in both of her hands.

"Yes, I am."

I shook my face free, bowing my head shamefully. "I'm barely even human," I mumbled.

She forcibly lifted my chin, her light eyes piercing through mine . "Stop. You're as human as they come. You have such a good heart that you don't seem to notice and that's why I love you. I recognize your heart because it feels like mine."

She spoke so earnestly that I had a hard time not believing her.

"Okay."

"Okay as in you believe me or okay as in you just want me to shut up."

I chuckled lightly. "Okay as in I believe you."

She smiled, leaning it to kiss me slowly.

I kissed her back gently.

I love you Athena.
