"You guys had a moment!" Squealed Montana. "Are you going to call him?" I looked up at the darkening sky.
"I don't know."
"Follow your gut, you know what to do." Montana left me and went home.
We never went surfing! What a waste of a trip!
You met your soulmate.
How the hell did he know that's what was said in my dream. Besides soul mates don't exist, that's like saying vampires and werewolves are real.
I walked home and placed all of my things into the garage. Fish and I went inside to my room and got ready for bed.
Should I call Adam? It's a new job, and he's pretty nice.
AND HE'S YOUR SOULMATE!!!
I could finally see something other than water... and get away from Spencer. But what would Mary say?
I climbed into bed and typed in Adam's number.
"Hello?" His deep raspy voice rang through my phone. I took a deep breath and smiled.
"Hi, Adam? Its Cleo, the girl from the beach." I heard him shuffling around his bed, cleared his throat.
"Did you make a choice?"
"I did." Que the moment of silence.
"Which is..."
"I would love the job." I blushed at my stupidity.
"Great come by the Herpetological Sanctuary at 10."
"Thank you."
"I can't believe I did that!" I groaned into the phone. Montana laughed at my distraught state.
"Did you tell Mary?"
"Nope, I was hoping you would."
"Of course, but she will be pissed."
"Please don't tell them, where I work. I can't have Spencer finding me." I looked at the building and sighed. "I've got to go, I'm here." I put my phone into my back pocket and looked at the sanctuary door.
