"Our next special of the night will be this weeks races!!" Adam 'helped' me off the floor and to the closest seat.
"You're doing so well!" I kissed him softly.
"My feet hurt!" Well, that was true, but not because of skating, I think it was during one 'slip'. I might have sprained my ankle. Kids lined up on the starting line and waited in anticipation. Montana and Spencer waited for their turn. As the DJ went through the different age groups, I grew more anxious, I just needed to kick their butts. I craved another win, but not another injury from Spencer.
"Last call for races!!!"
"Adam... I'm so sorry." I stood up and skated over to Montana at the starting line.
"Good to have you back."
"Good to be back, now prepare to eat my dust!" I winked. An eternity passed before the referee moved. He blew his whistle and my body filled with adrenaline, I instantly took the lead. I fought Montana for first place, but there was no way I was willingly going to let her win. We finished our 1st, 2nd, 3rd,4th, and finally 5th. I took home the win that night. And it felt beyond great.
I laid down on Adam's lap all red and flustered.
"You lied!"
"I was making you feel manly?" I let Adam go skate while I rested for a bit, but Spencer had different ideas. He sat his ass next to me and glared a thousand daggers.
"What are you doing here." He sneered, I tried not to gag from the alcohol lacing his breath.
"It's a free country, and I wanted to skate."
One wrong move, I was dead meat. Since the day Spencer raped me, I knew to be careful. But no matter how careful I was, something always triggered him.
"I'm going to KILL you for that stunt you pulled. Mary banned me from the water. YOU are costing me everything. I should have taken care of you when I had the chance!" He spat in my face, I wiped off the spit angerly.
AGAIN, WRONG MOVE!!
Spencer grabbed my wrist and held on tightly, my heart started to beat faster.
"Watch your back, bitch." I was scared, correction I was beyond terrified. Spencer had all the power to hurt me, and he was itching to get his hands on me. And if did, I'd be a goner and that cannot happen. Not if I wanted any chance to start a family.
Spencer released my bright red wrist and left, I wish I could say that I was brave, but right now, I was crying on the inside, begging to be saved.
At 9pm, I was beyond sore. Moving around was an impossible task itself. The manager provided me with bags of ice, one after another. I was slammed against walls, tripped, and skated over. All by the one, the only, Spencer. He did everything in his power to get rid of me, and yet no one noticed that he was the culprit. I fought the tears as Adam started the car.
"YOU are worthless, absolute garbage. I never loved you, you were a dare, a simply won $400. I know hookers with more personality than you."
"Cleo, what happened?" I didn't answer, just closed my tired eyes and rested. Adam helped me into his car and strapped me in. "Do you want to spend the night at my place, I'll make dinner. We can watch a movie?"
"I've barely seen Fish."
"We can pack you both an overnight bag, please."
"Fine."
---
"Hi, Fish," I whispered, we walked up to my room and started packing some stuff. Adam packed my bag for the trip, while I packed one for myself. I made sure to pack enough to have a good choice, my best thongs, and bras, best shirts and shorts. Anything really, I really just wanted to look good for Adam. I might have even packed a dress. I grabbed a duffle bag for all of Fish's things.
"Hey Fish, go get your travel bowls, some toys and anything else you want to bring." My dog ran from room to room collecting things. He ended up bringing me ALL of his toys, his teddy bear, and his blanket. I let him keep the bear and blanket since he loves to drag them around the house, like a toddler. I went down the kitchen, and filled a container with dog food and packed it up.
"I think he's ready to go." Fish was out the door and waited for us as we locked up.
