ADAM'S POV

When fish was running around with the bear and blanket I couldn't help but imagine him as a kid. A little toddler not wanting to go to bed, I needed to make Cleo my girlfriend. I can't imagine starting a future with anyone else.

When everyone was in the car, I turned on some soft music and they were out like a light. It was for the best, the drive to my cottage was about 30 minutes from here.

I was honestly quite surprised Cleo managed to stay up this late, with all those vaccines and what happened at the rink.

The moonlight hit her skin, reflecting her bruising wrist. I saw Spencer grab her, I know that he had something to do with it. All I needed to do was make sure he would never touch her again. I stopped at a red light and pulled out a napkin, Cleo's busted lip started to bleed a bit again. I saw as she came crashing down, time after time, refusing any help.

I pulled up into the driveway of my cottage and got out to unlock the door. Fish hopped out with his blanket draped over him, and his bear hanging out of his mouth. I carried their overnight bags, and Cleo onto the couch and kneeled next to her.

"Cleo are you hungry? I can warm up some steak, make potatoes?"

"Adam it's like two in the morning!" I laid down on top of her, careful not to hurt her.

"It's only 10." I brushed my lips against her neck, as I whispered softly.

"Well, in that case, I only want one thing." I bit my lip.

"Oh yeah, and what's that."

"You." I lifted her off the couch and carried her into my room. I closed the bedroom door with my foot and tossed her into bed.

"Please never wear this shirt again." I ripped it off of her and kissed her.

"Oh, Adam!" She moaned, trembling underneath me. And well we all know how this night ends.

The next morning, I woke up to Cleo and I cuddling. Her brown hair was sprawled across my white pillow. I planted a soft kiss on her cheek and climbed out of bed.

"Now where did we throw my boxers?" I laughed, eventually I just grabbed a fresh pair of briefs and went downstairs to make pancakes. Fish was sleeping on a recliner, wrapped up in his blanket and hugging his bear. I took out his bowls and filled them up, leaving them in the kitchen.

I made a nice stack of pancakes for us, and I started to place toppings on the table.

"Looks delicious."

CLEO'S POV

I walked downstairs in a pair of panties, and a shirt that barely covered my ass. Adam was flipping flapjacks while humming 'living on a prayer.' I leaned against the frame and took in the sight.

We quickly finished breakfast, and ran out the door *PROPERLY DRESSED OF COURSE*

We drove to work in Adam's pickup truck, since it was raining and I'm pretty sure his little car wasn't the best option.

During the entire drive, I was thinking about the grapefruit vs grape thing. There is a fruit called a grape, and yet a fruit called a grapefruit!! Could we not create a new name...?

ADAM'S POV

"Cleo!" No answer.

"Cleo!" I raised my voice, still nothing. She completely ignored the fact that I was standing outside, in the rain.

"God damn Cleo!" I threw her over my shoulder and shut the door. I carried her, and her bag for the trip, around the building to the employee entrance. I could make out three bright busses through the dense downpour. Good god, this woman is making me go crazy. And I love her for it. Before anyone says something about 'it's too early, it's only been a week!' let me tell you something when you find someone sometimes you click, or you don't. We clicked, we matched, as long as I truly love her, your opinions don't matter.
