Sooo, I just want to say a massive thank you to @amnxsia for the new cover!!! It is absolutely brillant and I love it so, so much!!!

I wake up in the morning to my alarm, still angry with my parents for yelling at me last night. Where do they get the right to lecture me about anything? Sure they’re my parents but they’re rarely home so I don’t think they have any right in telling me what to do.

I take a quick shower and change into some jeans and a dark green sweater, leaving my blonde hair to hang loosely around my shoulders while twisting back my bangs. I grab my book bag and rush down the stairs, wanting to eat some cereal before driving to school. But of course, the one day I want to eat a nice breakfast I slide into the kitchen to see my mother sitting at the dining room table drinking her coffee and reading the newspaper.

“In a hurry this morning,” she states shortly, more of an accusation instead of a question. I decide to just ignore her as I rummage in the cabinet for the Cocoa Puffs, grabbing a bowl to pour them in before getting the milk. After pouring the cereal I grab a spoon and decide to sit on a stool at the counter instead of joining my mom at the table.

I eat my cereal in silence, placing the empty bowl in the sink afterwards and grabbing my book bag and car keys trying to leave the house as quickly as possible.

“I want you home right after school, do you understand?” I hear a stern voice ask from the kitchen as I walk towards the front door.

“Yeah mom, I know what being grounded means,” I sigh in a sarcastic tone, I know I should be more respectful to my mother but right now I just can’t. I drive quickly to school, pulling into my usual parking spot. I jump a little when I hear a loud motor park next to me, looking over and seeing that Luke’s motorcycle is right beside my vehicle with him sitting there grinning at me.

“Hi,” I say with a hint of uncertainty in my voice. Usually when he is in this good of a mood this morning he acts like a jerk later in the day.

“How are you this lovely morning?” Luke replies, grabbing his book bag and matching his step with mine so we are walking into school together.

“Obviously not in as good of a mood as you are,” I chuckle, glancing up at him to see him grinning down at me.

“Well get happy, it’s a nice day outside. Lovely day to skip if I do say so myself,” he laughs giving me a wink as I stare up at him in shock.

“Luke,” I groan, “I can’t skip anymore. I got grounded last night because my parents got home early and found out,” I murmur quietly, kind of embarrassed about admitting this. Luke laughs as I get my books out of my locker, I peek over to see that he is really laughing. I know that he has laughed a couple of times in my presence but I just haven’t gotten used to it yet. The way he throws his head back, how his eyes crinkle at the corners, his mouth turned up into a grin showing off his small yet prominent dimples, his lip ring teasingly be played with by his tongue. It’s a beautiful sight.

“You got grounded?” he asks after he is done laughing like he doesn’t quiet believe my story. I nod my head solemnly, my lips turning up into a small grin as he starts laughing again. “That is too funny,” he chuckles, wiping at his eyes like he is crying from laughing so hard.

“I’m glad you think it’s so funny. I’ll see you later, I have class,” I mutter, pointing towards the door I have to walk through in the next minute and a half.

“Aw come on, I’m kidding with you. You can at least tell me bye,” Luke smirks, stepping a little closer to me. I crane my neck so I can look him in the eyes as he is now just inches away from my body, the rest of the students and noise in the hall fading to a distant noise. My whole body heats up yet shivers at the same time as I watch his fingers lightly graze my hip as if he is trying to pull me close.
