Chapter 19: Sleeping Beauty

Aviera's POV

If only I wasn't sleeping, I could've save her. 

W-why? Why her? 

I immediately turned my gaze away from Orette. I can't stand seeing her lying on a bed... Unconscious...

"S-sorry! Sorry, Princess Aviera kung h-hindi namin siya naprotektahan! I-it's our fault!" umiiyak na sabi ni Bridgette.

I stared at the Liceps. Nakaluhod sila at paulit-ulit na humihingi ng tawad. Maliban kay Burn na ngayo'y nakasandal lang sa malamig na pader ng hospital.

We are here in the Greyzer's hospital. I went out of Orette's body. Only the Liceps can see me. "Stand up. It's all my fault. I should've been awake that time so I could protect her. I'm so stupid to lower my guard." I stopped my tears from falling. I composed my usual emotionless face and cold voice. 

A princess shouldn't be seen crying. I must be an example of toughness and braveness.

"N-Nawahati." Leigh has been hugging Orette the whole time. 

"Parusahan niyo po kami," Kali said. The girls are still crying ang blaming themselves while the boys are just silent but there's a hint of regret and sadness within their eyes.

It's me who must be blamed.

"She won't wake up if I give you punishment. What is done is done." I sat on her bed. "Would you mind... Leaving? I just want to have alone time with her," I added.

Lahat sila ay mabagal na umalis sa loob ng kwarto. Leigh sat on a couch near the bed.

"Orette..." I called her. "I'm s-sorry." My cold voice cracked.

--Flashback--

"PRINCESS!!!" I heard Kyle's voice.

What's happening? Aren't they aware that they're disturbing someone's sleep?

Bumagsak ako-- ang katawan namin. Sinalo naman ito ni Kyle.

I got out of our body and take a look what happened.

They ran toward her. "Orette? Orette?! Wake up!" My heart is beating fast and I didn't know why. I suddenly got nervous.

Binasa ko ang isip ng bawat isa sa kanila. 

"Send her to the hospital!" I shouted. My hands are shaking. 

Dreiya did something to her!

"Headmaster, the Evelesk's ruler put her to a deep slumber! She's now a sleeping beauty. Malakas ang kapangyarihan ng reyna at hindi namin mapantayan. It was a black curse. Ang kaya lang naming gawin ay i-monitor ang lagay niya," the healer explained. "To survive, the queen should lift up her curse which is impossible. Or, she'll fight against it. Her life depends on her. If the patient give up..."

"A-ANONG MANGYAYARI SA KANIYA?! Please! S-sabihin niyo!" Scanium burst into tears. 

"She will eventually die. Kung hindi niya lalabanan ang sumpa at mas tumagal ito, she will never wake up. Excuse me." The healer left the place.

My knees trembled. Naramdaman ko ding umiinit ang gilid ng mata ko.

N-no...

I held her hand. "Niligtas dapat kita. Hindi dapat ako natulog. It's my fault, Orette." I think I look weird. Imagine, tears are dropping from my eye but my face is still emotionless. I look like a doll or some kind of robot. I don't care anyway.
