"I'm bored" Carson says coming into my room. Zoey and I have been here for about 3 weeks. They turned the storage room into a bedroom for Zoey so I get a room to myself.
"Go hang out with your friends" I say.
"They're all busy. Just come with me. It'll be fun"
"Last time you said that we pretended that I cheated on you"
"I mean we could do that again if you wanted"
"I'm good" I say and get up.
"Oh before we go, your sister is telling me mom about this guy that she likes. Thought you might be interested"
"Guy? Like?"
"Yeah" he says. I go to the kitchen and see Peggy cooking while Zoey talks to her.
"Zo? Who's this boy you like?" I ask.
"He's my friends brothers friend" she says.
"Oh yeah? What's his name?"
"Joseph Johnson"
"Oh Parker's brother" Carson says.
"You know Parker?" she asks.
"Yeah, he's my best friend"
"Really?! Can you tell him to come over and bring Joey?!"
"Isn't he a little old for you?" I ask.
"He's 11" Carson says.
"She's 9"
"I'm almost 10!" she says.
"Dude your birthday is in August. It's December"
"Whatever"
"Mom, we're gonna go" Carson says.
"Ok. Be home before 11. It's a school night" she says.
"Bye" we say. We grab our coats and go to his car. We drive to McDonalds and order 2 large fries. We park in the parking lot and get out our food.
"So, how's Karlee?" I ask.
"She's good. Her and Sophia have become great friends" he says.
"Really? Sophia is friends with Karlee?"
"Yeah"
"Huh....strange"
"Yeah. You got a boyfriend?"
"Um...."
"Dude it's fine, I'm not gonna pound your face in. I've turned over a new leaf"
"Um ok well...yes. I have a boyfriend but we aren't public. Only Sophia knows who it is"
"Tell me"
"I can't"
"Please"
"No"

"He goes to our school. I sit next to him in one of my classes. That's all I can tell you" I give in.
"What is he? Like is he a nerd or geek or something" he asks.
"........I can't. He will kill me if you figure it out"
"I get 2 guesses. You have to answer yes or no. If I don't guess it I won't ask again"
