Chapter Eleven

I had fallen asleep before Daddy came in so I still hadn’t seen him when I woke up the next morning. I woke up to a note on the fridge “Gone to work early, come in as soon as you wake up. Lots to be done” was what was written on the page. I only kind of half read it. All I was thinking about was seeing Luke.

I rushed to get ready since it was 12pm and Daddy's definition of early is before the sun rises. I quickly grabbed a bagel on the corner of the street beside the office. I also quickly stopped by Starbucks picking up some coffees for everyone just in case Daddy was in a bad mood with me for being so late. I waddled out of the elevator and glided to Daddy's office as fast as my legs could carry me. "Kate! Finally you're here. Did you get my note?" He asked pulling me into a hug. "Yeah, you know you could have just text me, this isn't 1995" I said teasing him. He rolled his eyes. "Funny I actually missed you being such a smart ass" He said taking the coffee I had handed him. 

"How was your trip?" I asked him. "Great! got everything I needed to be done, done" He said placing his coffee on the table. "Kate I'd love to stay here and chat about LA with you but I have some jobs for you" I nodded in acknowledgment, ready for whatever he was going to throw at me. "Firstly, bring the boys their coffee. Then I need you to e-mail various radio and TV station, confirming the boys appearances this week. The list with all the names are here" He said handing me a piece of paper. "Wow! The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon! that's a big deal" I said getting excited for the boys. "Yeah, then I need you to go to the Best Buy Theatre and make sure the stage is set up perfectly for the boys' performance tomorrow and then....." The list seemed to go on and on. I know he said he had a lot of work for me today but this was a little ridiculous. I wasn't even sure if it would be humanly possible for one person to do this in one day.

"Is that it?" I said sarcastically. Daddy chuckled. "Actually no" He said seriously. "What?" I said in disbelief. "I need you to visit the police station beside Time Square and convince them to let the boys have a meet and greet there tomorrow" He told me. "What do you mean convince?" I asked him suspiciously. "Well they aren't exactly allowing it to happen" He told me. "What makes you think I can change their mind?" I asked him, folding my arms. "Honey, if you can convince me to buy you a pair of Manolos for 'posterior reasons' then you can convince some cops to block off a road for an hour" He said rubbing my shoulder. "Fine.." I agreed.

"Good girl, now give the boys their coffees before they get cold" He said kissing my forehead. I strolled into the boys.

"Well, long time no see" I said leaning against the doorframe. "Kate!" They all exclaimed except for Luke. They all got up and hugged me. "Aw I missed you guys, it was so boring without you" I said pouting. "Aw Luke would you give her a hug" Calum teased, making him feel guilty for being the only one who didn't hug me. "Yeah Luke" I said smirking. He got up, biting his lip ring before pulling me into an intentionally awkward hug so that it didn't look like we had an chemistry. "Well I think I can guarantee that there is no chance you two will ever get together" Ashton said confidently which made me giggle.

"I'd love to stay and chat but Daddy has me running around the city all day doing errands" I said rolling my eyes. "So you won't be around the office at all today?" Michael asked. "I doubt it" I told them. "Yay" Luke mumbled taking a sip from his coffee. "Ha ha" I mocked sarcastically. "Anyways have fun recording or whatever you're doing" I said waving them off.

I took 7 Subways in less than 7 hours, I felt as though I had walked to every inch of the city. My legs felt like jello and I thought I could collapse at any moment. I let out a loud sigh of relief as I got out of the elevator. I strolled into Daddy's office around 7:30pm. "Done" I said flopping down in his swivel chair. "Really? everything?" He asked unconvinced. "Everything" I said on an inhale. "Wow I'm impressed. Did you convince the NYPD?" He asked. "Yeah, it took a little bit of flirting but I did it" Daddy chuckled in response. "That's my girl" He said his face filling with proud. "Now go relax, you deserve it" He said waving me off.

I quickly got up going into one of the lounge rooms where the boys would usually be. I groaned as I walked through the door, flopping down on one of the couches. "Rough day?" Luke asked with a smirk on his face. "Rough doesn't even cut it. I though I was going to break down in tears in the middle of Lexington" I said leaning my head back and Luke laughed. "Where are the other boys?" I asked. Luke got up from his seat, sitting beside me, placing his hand on my thigh. "Mikey and Ash are at a writing session and Cal..well I'm not really sure where he is" He said shrugging. "Ugh I'm so hungry, I could eat a horse. I'm just too tired to get up and get something" I whined. "Do you want me to get you something?" Luke suggested. "Would you?" I said turning to him. "Of course" Luke said kissing my cheek before standing up. "McDonald's?" He suggested. "You read my mind, I owe you" I told him.

"You can pay me back later" He said winking. "Be back in a few" Luke said kissing the top of my head before walking out. Within 10 minutes he was back with a Big Mac. "You're the best" I said grinning at him. "I know" He said sitting back down beside me. "This is so good" I said between bites. "Good" Luke said chuckling at me.

After I ate, I just sat there for a minute. "Ow" I said rubbing my shoulders. "What's wrong?" Luke said concerned. "Nothing..my shoulders are just killing me" I groaned trying to massage them. "Here let me" Luke said pulling me onto his lap. Luke began to firmly massage my shoulder blades. I couldn't help let out a moan as he untied the stress in my back. "You seem stressed" Luke said leaving a trail of kisses down my back. "Hmm mm" I said, that being the only noise I could make. I turned my body around so that I was now facing Luke. He gently grabbed my face, pulling my lips into his.

He deepened the kiss as he grabbed my legs, pulling me around so that I was now straddling him. 'I missed this so much" I moaned as Luke kissed down my neck. "Not as much as I did" Luke said kissing up my neck until he reached my lips again. I was concentrating so hard on Luke and the moment we were in that I didn't even hear the door open. We both looked up to be met with Calum who had a look of pure shock plastered across his face. I was so in shock at him standing there that I couldn't even move. He finally spoke. "I knew it!"
