Oof this has been a long time coming. For those of you that know, Creepypastas are some of my favorite things. Like there are so many great stories that regular people like you and I have created. Of course the popular stories aren't the best, but there are some hidden gems within this community.

I'm a horror fan, though I haven't seen too many horror movies myself, so naturally I would gravitate towards this fandom. If you can get past the shitty DeviantArt OC's and terribly written "stories" it is a one of a kind fandom.

In this chapter I will be going through both popular creepypastas, how to write a creepypasta, and fanfiction.

Now not all popular creepypastas are bad, Marble Hornets and the BEN Drowned ARG are absolutely amazing! However, this book is takes a bit more of a negative approach, so I will not talk about these amazing masterpieces. Now obviously anything dealing with Jeff the Killer(this fucking name makes me cringe so much) is usually bad. I don't mind joke OC's like Poopsie the Killer because it's fucking hilarious, but if you are taking your shitty OC super seriously, then you should probably stop. If you are seriously wanting to write a horror stories, please for the love of god do not do what Jeff the Killer's writer does. It makes no since and the dood might have had a boner all the time due to him have the "feeling". One thing that I would recommend when creating a slasher type monster or whatever, is not have them be a teenager. The cliche is super boring now, teenagers aren't that smart to be getting away with what they are doing, and they have next to no life experience. I would recommend the age range to be about late 20's to early 30's or older, then at least they have experienced a lot of what life has to offer.

The plots and main character decisions are fucking dumb and completely unrealistic. Like why the hell would they be in an abandoned mental health ward? Answering these questions, or possibly choosing a better setting can help make your story more realistic, as the point in creepypastas is to make you question the goings in the world(Similar to SCPs). Now dumb character decisions are a staple in any kind of horror setting, whether it be in an ARG, a slasher film, or a book. Unless there's some reason that actually makes since, then I would write what I, or realistically what the character, might do in that situation. Now not all horror plots are boring, but some of them tend to get overused. For example, the tragic backstory for the villain, the black guy gets killed first, etc.. Cliches aren't necessarily bad, but if you can't write them well, then try your best to avoid them.

For most Creepypasta fanfiction involves some kind of relationship between one of the creepypastas and the OC/reader. This can fine if you do it right. Now I don't remember the name of it, but this one Toby x reader fanfic I read was way beyond what I was expecting. I was anticipating it to be some shitty and edgy angst book, but it was pretty much the opposite. Both of them were adults and seeing their problems made me grow closer to them and fear for their safety, next to no other creepypasta fanfiction or really any other kind of fanfiction made me feel something like that! I'm certainly not the best person to consult on how to make a character more realistic, but I'm sure you can find some guides on the internet somewhere.

Two huge criticisms I have for the fanfiction scene of Creepypasta is the OOCness of some of the characters and the idea that they live in the same world and apparently all live together happily. Now OOCness isn't much of a problem but I hate the representations of some characters. For example, many people portray BEN Drowned to be afraid of water, sure I get that to a point but like the dude is a ghosty asshole, why the hell would he care in the first place? Though this is off topic, but I hate it when people act like Masky and Hoodie are like creepypasta OC's. It just makes me pissed that people can't even do research, Marble Hornets needs more appreciation instead of neglect in this fandom. The idea of the creepypasta mansion is fucking retarded. Like most of the people you write about are serial killers, you know what that means right? If several killers were placed in the same vicinity with weapons around, don't you think that they would, oh I don't know, fucking kill each other!? I just hate the idea and I can't believe I ever liked fanfiction like that.

On to the topic of that possible Phantom of the Opera fanfic I might right, I am thinking about plot ideas, it's just that I am not super confident in my writing yet. I'm possibly thinking about creating a oneshot and/or drabble book with OC's(since I am shitty at writing other people's characters), it'll probably involve some yanderes and maybe some romance if I really want to. Do you have any ideas on stuff you guys would think I should write. I'm not the best at writing super long stories, so I would prefer short stories. I was also thinking of putting a book out with some dumb poems that I sometimes write.

Nonetheless, I love you all and appreciate all the comments I get on this rant book!
