Writing Style and Grammar

One thing that can definitely turn me away from a fanfiction is shitty grammar. Now I don't mind a couple grammar errors here and there, I mean, just look at this! I barely know grammar and I'm a native speaker of English! But using the excuse that English is super hard, even though it most definitely is, get really annoying. To those of you wanting a grammar checker or something I'd recommend to download Grammarly. It doesn't get everything, but if want a better version of the spell checker in Google Docs or Microsoft Word, it works pretty nicely.

Okay but don't you just hate it when there's a fanfic that's super popular, but the characters are literal shit in human form, and to top it all off, the writing is atrocious. Oof. I don't see how people can find that shit entertaining in the least. Like I understand if your first couple of stories are super bad, since everyone's first couple of stories are bad, but the way that people are unable to improve like that astounds me.

On the flipside, I find it annoying if a book is way too descriptive. I don't mind fancy language here and there, but I find jargon way too hard to read. Like I understand you want to describe how beautiful her hair was, but, as I say many times, show don't tell. Show people complimenting her or something.

As some of you may know, I like to read books that take place in the middle ages, but one thing that I dislike about reading amazing ones is the style of writing back then. Sure I can read Shakespeare and understand about half of what is being said, but I find it hard to pay attention while reading stuff like this.

Back onto grammar, I absolutely loathe it when the chapters are literally one paragraph. Like I don't wanna read this giant ass wall of text. Sure choosing when to start a new paragraph is kind of hard, but like at least start a new one before a new person speaks. This kind of sucks for me since most of the fandoms I want to read fanfics of are usually formatted like this.

This is all that I can think of at the moment. Since I am becoming an uninspired ass, what are something you guys would like me to talk about, and some points to include. I've been wanting to rant a bit on fandoms, but I'm not sure if I should make a new book about that or put it in here, what are your guys' thoughts. Anyways I love you all, sorry for this short as shit chapter.
