Chapter 24 ~Graduation~

•Brooks POV•
Colby and I have been together again for about a week now and we graduate in 4 weeks. This year has went by so fast it's crazy. I'm just happy that Colby ended tour early so we could spend the rest of the year together.

Colby put me in two more YouTube videos, one for Colbys Channel "Best Friend vs Girlfriend Challenge" and one for Sams channel "Couples challenge". They beat us for the couple challenge but I beat Sam by one point surprisingly. This week was a fun week.

Colby and I are sitting in first hour next to each other like always, just for three more weeks. It's so sad. I didn't end up getting a scholarship into any colleges which made me sad but it's whatever. I don't need college.
Colby will be all big and successful and I'll be over here as a disappointment. He deserves way better than me honestly. I don't understand why he's into me. He could probably get any girl at our school because of how caring and hot he is.

At lunch all my friends were talking about graduation and I was staring off into space, thinking.

"Hey Brook? Everything okay?" Hannah asked grabbing my hand.
I look up at her. "Oh yeah I'm fine, just thinking." Looking back down.
"About what?" Colby asked.
"Well about graduating. It's scary ya know? Like I'm terrified to leave this place." They all just look at me and nod their heads. Colby holds my hand.

"Like Hannah, your going all the way to Florida. Gracie, your going to Illinois. Sam and Colby, you guys will be touring sometime. Like we won't be in touch as much as we would during school." I said looking at everyone. "I'm scared to lose you guys" I start to tear up.
"Hey I'm not going anywhere. When you're in New York, I might be in LA but I will never forget or leave you." Colby said.
"I didn't get into that school, or any school. I thought I told you." I said looking down.
He pulls out an envelope that says my name on it. He hands it to me.
"You sure about that?" He said smiling.

I open the envelope and I read the letter. It said that I will be attending next fall. I did it, I fricking did it! I'm goin to college!
"But- how- wha-" I say with a loss of words.
"Your dad wanted me to surprise you with it." He said laughing. I hug him and smile.

The next four weeks we spent almost everyday together since I'll be busy getting ready for college. I'm gonna miss everyone, especially Colby. Right when things finally start falling into place and getting better, it just falls back down.

•Day of Graduation•

I'm currently at home getting ready for graduation. I walk down the stairs and my dad looks at me and starts tearing up.
"Dad." I said and hug him. He smiled and kissed my forehead and I left for the school.

I get to the school with Colby and we go into the gym to meet everyone else. We get with the rest of our friends and wait to go to the other gym for the graduation to start.
We talk about us, what it was like for our high school life and how we impacted each other's life.
Gracie admitted to our group that she had a thing for Sam and everyone was surprised but me since I already knew. Honestly I think they'd be cute together but what's meant to happen will eventually happen.

We all sit down in alphabetical order and listen to the speech everyone says and then we stand up and get in line. This is the last time that we will be standing in alphabetical order together as a class. I remember walking down the halls in kindergarten in this order. It's so sad.
After we get our diploma and stuff we get to go to our parents before sitting back down.

I go up to my dad and Jamie and hug them both. My dad starts crying so then I start crying.
"I love you guys." I said and wiped my eyes.
"We love you too." Jamie said and I hugged them one more time before my dad kissed my forehead and I went back to my seat.

After everyone was announced we stand up and the principle says, "class of 2018, congratulations you are officially graduated!" Everyone throws their caps up while cheering. My eyes are filled with tears.

I go to Colby after all of that and hug him tightly. We both are crying now knowing that I'll be across the country from him.
"Congratulations baby. We did it." He said rubbing my back.
"We did it together." I said kissing his cheek.
He wipes away my tears and smiles. "I'm so proud of you. You've been through a lot and it has all paid off."
I smile and kiss him. I hug him one more time before our friends join in and we have a huge group hug.

We took pictures together, separately, and with our family. When I took one with my family I insisted that Tyler and Jamie got in and I could tell that I made her day. I'm so grateful for what I have.

Colby takes me home and goes home. Later he calls me telling me that his folks are here and to get my ass over there so I go and meet his parents and they are the nicest people ever. Colby said that they liked me so I guess that's good.
