"McKenna! Your horse won't load in the trailer for me!" My older sister said.

"Step aside," I told her. Magic went in smoothly with ease. I pulled down the windows on my trailer and Magic whinnied softly saying goodbye to the other horses.

"Why are we in such a rush anyways?" My sister asked.

"We have to pick up Abby and Ellie," I murmured.

"What?!" My sister exclaimed!

Abby is only bringing 2 horses and Ellie is bringing 1 so calm down," I stated. Last time they each brought two. And I brought two so we had to squeeze 6 horses in a 5 horse trailer. It worked but Abby's horse Dazzle her quarab came out of the trailer so fast and nearly ran over my sister. Dazzle is half Arab and half quarter horse. Beautiful horse. She's a bay and she can turn like no other. She's pretty fast too but not fast enough for barrel racing. She's a pole bender. Her other horse Hollywood is her barrel racing horse. That mare can turn and burn. Fast. She runs like her saddle blanket is on fire. They are my main competition. Besides Danielle Piche. We like to call her princess snob. She's so spoiled it's unbelievable. Ellie brought her horse Aprohdite. That Horse ropes and barrel races. Ellie is pretty good at barrel racing but me and her have been 3-time state champs for calf roping. I brought two horses today. Magic is my barrel and rope horse. I raised him as a foal and trained him myself. My other horse is Dakotah. He is my pole bending .horse. He loves what he does and he shows it in the arena.

"McKenna we are here," my sister told me taking me out of my daze. I got out of the ford 2008 king ranch truck and made sure Magic and Dakotah were okay. I went to the stable and saw Abby and Ellie getting there horses. We are all wearing blue western shirts with bling and dark jeans. We all have ariat boots too. What can we say? We think alike.

"Hey McKenna! Ready to win another buckle and maybe win a cowboy in the process? Cause I heard there is a new cowboy on the circuit. Alec hall I think? I'm not sure but we might have some competition this year," Ellie said. Abby snorted.

"What?" I asked her.

"Nothing it's just it's funny that you never let people get the best of you and you always come out on top," she said all in one breath.

She had no idea I thought to myself.

FLASHBACK

I had just come home from a rodeo with my sister. I had won 2000 dollars. I was 11 years old. All I heard was screaming and yelling from the living room.

"Nobody respects me in this house. I come home and McKenna is always on her horses and you are out with your friends and Maysa is out too!" My dad screamed. Maysa tried to sneak me out the door but dad caught her.

"Did you win any money in your pathetic horse shows?" My dad asked with anger and maybe just a bit of curiosity.

"Yeah," I said flatly trying to hide any emotion from my voice.

"How much?" He asked with no emotion.

"2000 dollars," I stated.

"Let me see the bills," he said flatly. I gave it to him scared expecting the worst. He took all 20 bills and ripped them in half. I screamed bloody murder and gathered all the halves and tape. I went to Magics stall and taped them back together. I hopped on bareback and ran him to his hearts desire crying as we went.

Back to Reality

"McKenna. McKenna!" I heard Abby yell.

"What?" I asked.

" We though you were like having a stroke or something," Ellie said not hiding the concern in her voice.

"Girls come on. Let's get this show on the road," Maysa said rather impatient. After we got their horses and tack in the horse trailer we were on our way to Hawley, MN.

Once we got there we unloaded our horses and I tied Magic and Dakotah up. I tacked Magic up since calf roping was up first. I went and signed me and Ellie up for roping and myself for barrels and pole bending. I paid the fee of 150 dollars and signed everything I needed to sign and left. All of a sudden someone trips me and I land into someone's arms. I look up and all I see are the brownest eyes you will ever see.
