When he saw me looking at him he walked over. "What the hell?" He said.
"What?" I asked.
"There is no way that you could've gotten that good of a time. Unless of course your horse is on steroids," Alec said smirking. I scowled at him and gave him a glare. He smiled seeing that he struck a nerve. "Well I saw that your partner is kinda hot. Maybe I'll ask her out and bring her on a back road," Alec stated.
"Stay away from Ellie and Abby. They have been cheated on and messed around with. They don't need scum like you trying to pick them up an play your stupid little game," I growled.
"And you're the perfect one out of the group. Perfect life, perfect parents, and had a awesome childhood. Were are you parents now? Going to buy a yacht?" He asked with a smirk on his face. So I did the only thing I thought of. I smacked him. It was loud and a big smack came out of it. He winced at how hard it was. I hopped back on magic with tears in my eyes and let him run to his favorite spot. By the cows. I
cried into his mane and I heard somebody come behind me.
"O'Brien are you okay?" Alec asked me.
"Just go away. I think you've caused enough problems," I said sniffling.
"Come on I didn't mean it. I'm just mad that you beat me by that much. Not to be nosy or anything, but where are your parents?" he asked me. I glared at him. He had the nerve to make fun of me and then make me cry. Then he asks about my parents? I don't think so.
"One that's none of your damn business. Two you have the nerve to make me cry then try to ask me about my parents? Three stay the hell away from me!" I shout giving me strange looks from other people,
But I don't care. I went back to my trailer.
"Magic I hate him so much," I say. Then he nods his head as if he's saying yes. I laugh and say "You always know how to cheer me up," I laugh. I then unsaddles him and saddled up Dakotah and went to warm him up. Dakotah was moving really nicely today.
"He looks good McKenna," somebody says and as I look over I see straight dirty blonde hair and a bright pink western shirt. "But Dynamite here is ready to run and beat you guys, Danielle said.
"You haven't beat us in pole bending for a long time," I state. Dynamite did look good though I'm not gonna lie. Dynamite is looking really good. He's a tri-colored paint and is gorgeous! He's got a small Arab head that I'm totally jealous of. He's about 14.7 hands. Nice size. I love Dakotah though. She's such a pretty palomino and nice long mane and tale. I braided it last night so it would look curly. She's a 15.2 but she can turn!
"Today we will," she said rather confident. I'm last as usual right after Danielle.
"Abby nagel going right now and Danielle piche on deck, and 2-time state pole bending champion McKenna O'Brien in the hole," the announcer announced. I went and watched Abby. Dazzle was ready to run! She was crow hooping and the buzzer sounded and dazzle was off!
"Come on Abby push her! Crank her around that pole!" I yelled. Dazzle was working it. She was weaving through those poles so fast! Once she ran home I looked at the timer. 20.234. That's her personal best!
"Watch and learn McKenna. Watch and learn," Danielle said being cocky. I just scoffed.
Danielle started out good but on the way back weaving through the poles she knocked. Which makes a her a 25.674. I brought Dakotah in the arena and Abby and Ellie were cheering me on. And I heard a man voice saying "Go O'Brien!" I turned and it was Alec. He just smiled at me like nothing was weird about him doing that. Then I hear the buzzer and we go off. Dakotah was flying through those poles. I cranked her around and said "hey"
right around the poles. On the way home I made him run as fast as he could. I looked at the clock and it said 18.289. Another personal best I was so excited! I went to the trailer and untacked magic and I heard a voice.
"Hey honey, haven't seen you in a while," I froze. My dad was right next to me.
