When Alec left. I wiped the tears from my eyes and saddled up Magic. I wiped all the sadness from my face. I saw Abby and Hollywood. "Hey you guys did awesome!" I told her.
"I know. I am so proud of her. You and Dakotah did really well too! Considering a personal
Best and to wipe that smirk off of Danielle's face," she said grinning.
"I am really proud of Dakotah and Magic. We have won a total of 10,500 dollars today. If we do well in barrels we will make a lot of money," I said my eyes flashing with excitement.
"Dazzle and I have made a total of 7,000 dollars today. If Hollywood does well we will be golden," she tells me.
"Up next Ellie Reierson. On deck Abby Nagel, in the hole Danielle piche," the announcer announced.
"I better go," she said.
"Good luck!" I say.
"Thanks you too!" She shouts back. I get on magic smiling and walk over to the arena. Ellie's run is clean. A 15.613.
"Nice job Ellie!" I exclaim.
"Thanks. We need some work on the first barrel though," she says.
"Ellie with a run like that you are bound to be in the money," I say.
"Up next Abby Nagel, on deck Danielle Piche, and in the hole 3-time state champion barrel racer McKenna O'Brien!" He announces. I don't mean to sound arrogant or anything, everybody knows that I'm the favorite when I come to rodeos like this. It's kinda ridiculous really. Abby did good other than the fact that she knocked the 3rd barrel. She got a time of 20.814.
"Damn it," she said.
"There's always next time Abby," I told her.
"Yeah I know. I just wanted to win some big money today," she said sadly.
"Next is Danielle Piche, and on deck is McKenna O'Brien. Then that concludes our barrel racing. Danielle's run was clean but not fast enough. She got a 15.916. Ellie beat her!
"Yes! Good job Aprohdite!" Ellie exclaimed.
"Up next McKenna O'Brien!" the announcer says clearly excited. "McKenna has took first in all events she has competed in today. Let's see if she can keep the streak going," the announcer says.
"Come on Magic. Let's go kick some ass," I say. Magic is ready to run. He is clearly excited. We do our circle then run through the gates and into the arena. I run my heart out. I crank him around the first barrel. He darts toward second. "Easy!" I shout. He automatically slows down. Nice solid turn around second. He turns around the third with ease. I kick him and kick him. We pass the time line. I look at the clock and it's a 14.214! Awesome time! Today I won 10,500 dollars! I collect my money and go back to the truck. Guess who's waiting for me? Alec.
